I'm loving this game based debate that is starting to delv into philosophical terms.
Except one person isn't doing anything (ie. OCFB botting) while the other slaves away with real effort.
In the real world and in games, balance is made through work --> reward. If somebody can just skip the work and snag the rewards, then it makes everything all screwy. While it may not set the server on the path to apocalypse, it does pose several problems.
As these cheaters get stronger, they gain more influence over the server. They gain more control of crafted items (auto finish), control of dropped items (Dorren's), essentially control over much of the economy. Can you honestly say that this doesn't affect people who don't actually see them inside their dungeons?
How many endgame players do you see NOT using blacksmithed, tailored, or synthesized items?
What does the blacksmithing, tailored, and synthesized items for endgame player have to do with this debate?
Skip the work and snag the reward is screwy? So naive. So, a person who works really hard deserves rewards? In real life, that is not always the case. Just because you work really hard doesn't mean you deserve anything.
The reason why some people complain at all about what they do privately is that they are basically jealous of others.
If some of you guys ever log off the game for a long time, you may realize that it is still just a game. Stop treating it like it is some kind of Olympics or high profile competition with lives on the line or something.
tl;dr guys.
I don't have the time.
Now for a bit of news: a GM responded to the ticket that I submitted with information on the glitch. He claims that they're "looking into it." Could mean something, could mean nothing.
Bank coupons have been tested, no dice.
Same with temp inventories and pets.
The Maplestory smuggling method seems unlikely to work as all items drop on a DC and talking to Dorren instantly gets rid of the crystals, no matter how many you have.
As Saix said earlier picking them up and trying to enter results in them falling back onto the altar which in conjunction with the above observations suggests some sort of mod.
