Why do people hate Healers so much?
I noticed that some people is treating Healers unfairly in game, when they're one that worked hard to keep you alive while trying to stay alive.
Because some of the best Healers in game does not fight, some people believed they're "leeching" and doesn't do anything, so they changed the party EXP setting to "All to One" so Healers doesn't earn any EXPs.
For me... I find Healers to be very useful because when I'm soloing a dungeon such as Rabbie Adv. for 2, I would invite a Healer to come, and she'd help me when I got killed, or injured really badly, so basically, she'd do all the works keeping me alive, while I'm doing the works killing the monsters off.
Do you have any opinions on Healers, and if so, what is it, and how do you feel about them?

Party Healers with master title are a blessing for some of the more difficult missions, but generally another offensive character can be just as effective if not more than them.
If we got rid of the wound system and buffed healing with associated spells, then it'd be a more viable skill build.

I think healers are great, but I guess that's kind of because I end up taking that role in most parties. Honestly, I've never gotten any complaints from people for it; they actually thank me for it o.o;
Although, I am with you there. I'm not sure why people would hate healers so much since they help.

Because healing has very little potential as far as usage goes.
IF you maxed heal, you could heal party members between rooms/waves. If you maxed party heal, then it might be viable in a large party, but when a large party is necessary, everyone will probably get one shotted.
Mabinogi usually designates an aggro for each member, since each type of enemy follows the single aggro rule. This means every player sould actually be in active combat, not healing in the middle of a battle. As far as health recovery goes, potions are faster, easier, and just plain more efficient.
Also, if you have time to heal during a battle, thats time that could be used to deal damage instead.
I really really hated players who claimed to be healers. If you're really a party "healer", drop me some potions and get back to fighting. 4 people actively fighting will have just as much survival rate as a 3 fighter 1 healer team, but will clear a room faster. Heck, you're more likely to die in the middle of healing someone than you are if you were just figting.

There's only a few areas where Healers are universally accepted. All in all, there will be times when I would prefer an actual fighter, and there's times where I would prefer a healer. Just to note, there are a lot of people who consider themselves "Healers," but they don't have the skills to back it up. Those are the ones that are usually looked down upon.

For the most part another combat player saves more time in the end, but in parts of 6 and more 1 ph master can be quit dandy, if its a 5 or under ordeal your better off with 5 dedicated fighters, also heal and pheal is not that much hp so healers could do more then just heal as well. more so if your over the 1k range.

Because healing doesn't do very much when players aren't really in any danger of dying.

In Elite Missions, the Party Healing is something great to ask for, since the Defense Boost it extremely useful.
I find it so much easier that Healers can heal people over 400 HP rather quickly, so is really helps in terms of survival at times. Because, I know I like to Windmill spam everything. It is re-assuring to have a Healer be a back up though, for times like that.
I do appreciate their efforts to keep people alive. I don't understand why people would set it to "All to one" rule if everyone is trying their best to contribute with whatever they can.
Like, if they didn't want to use your efforts at all and think of it as even a slight contribution, then why even bother partying with people like that?
I'm thinking that Healers that can't necessarily have the skills to fight either even at the slightest are looked down upon. I don't see how that is reasonable, because they have double the role to take on, such as keeping other members alive, while keeping themselves alive.

I don't really find healers that useful at all when I party with them, I rather have more dmg than HP.
Simply because I don't see Mabinogi giving healers full potential for their builds. This game has either very weak missions that you don't have a need for potions at all, or very hard ones that wipe your party in a blink. A healer could never really help me that much (even more if I get wounded) during a battle.
Plus things like Nao Stones can ress you on the same place full HP + blessed; which is pretty good really.
Only credit I could give for are for high level party healers, but that's all and in very few situations to me.
Really, I just rather have more dmg dealers so we can finish the mission more quickly.

For some missions that require little effort and less people, it's generally better to have another weapon fighting in your team.
However, during Secret Missions or hard to run Dungeons/Missions, Party Healers are beloved, but it heavily depends on the difficulty. For example, having a party healer in Peaca INT is great, but most of the time, non trans, the monsters will ko the person or deal massive amounts of damage, party healers can't keep up.
In Secret Missions, because of the potion rule, the damage the monsters perform, they are highly loved in them because of that rule... other than that, it's hard to be a party healer.
While I do sympathized with you, OP, about party healers being hated, they shouldn't... it's really tough to be a party healer without being able to fight back.
There is this one party healer, I am thinking, who is good at her job, but she performs Golems with her healing. When she fights, she uses golems, and heals during the fight when needed or heals afterwards.
Having a person who is preventing damage to the team, by either killing off monsters or keeping them busy is a big plus instead of seeing a monster double team a teammate then they get hurt. Prevention, especially with the wound system, is the best medicine and preferred over Party Healing, sadly.

If this is to what I said, I meant healing skills, not skills overall. Of course if someone is a healer, they're going to focus on healing. Then again, to be a successful healer to missions that are adv/hm, they must have some sort of combat to get that high of a lvl.
To everything else you said, I agree.
Healers are most notably praised in Secret Missions and Renes Egg Guarding, in my opinion.

Generally, the more people you are dungeoning with, the more a healer would be useful/accepted (and the fact that less of the exp split is going to the healer).
Killing a 8k exp monster, I would rather not split it 50/50 with a healer, but I'm fine with it in a 8 person party.

I enjoy the company of high-ranked Healers/Party-Healers in the more difficult missions if only to keep me out of deadly or for a prolonged Dark Knight transformation. Most anywhere else, it'd be much more helpful to get someone taking some of the aggro off of you and dealing damage to cut through the spawns quicker.
