I find it quite strange since most of the earlier generations mention at some point what Tir Na Nog really is, so why do I always see "LF> Ride to TNN"?
One of my friends actually convinced me that Another World was TNN after a lengthy argument, but a few days ago I finished G2 for a friend and nothing of what she said made any sense now.

Because, if you haven't noticed a large population of the Mabinogi community are complete morons.

most people skip g1 and skim through g2 for trans and skip g3
That and the community is mostly made of idiots. (mabination only counts for, at most, 15-20% of the mabinogi community)

All though the vast majority of people have either skipped g1-g3 or done it long ago, it's also a spoiler.

I guess that answers my question (not really)....
Any deeper thoughts got this? My friend had started playing Vindictus, so her explanation revolved around Vindictus, Erinn, and Another World.
Also, I've seen posts here that are along the lines of "...You can go to TNN to train Windmill on Zombies..." so it doesn't only apply to Mabinogi.

Also saying TNN is a lot easier to say then Another World, and people are really lazy..
Erm.. What else..
Oh. As Xemnas said, most people skipped G1, others just didn't pay attention to the storyline.

I understand what you are saying, but saying "TNN" in place of "Another World" would be like using "Vindi" as if it meant "Mabi". Why not say "AW"? It's one letter shorter than "TNN", so for all those lazy people out there.....Go Go Go!! xD

1. People understand what i'm refering to when I say "Tir Na Nog".
2. I don't give a rats ass about the story.

It also doesn't help the fact that during G1, pretty much all Human NPCs involved with sending you to Another World pretty much call the place Tir Na Nog, and back in the days, we only had one Season update a month, and both G1 and G2 had 4 seasons each, so that was nearly a year where everyone thought the place was Tir Na Nog, even though when you enter the place, it says Another World. 8 months is more than enough time for abbreviations to develop in an MMO, even if it does become wrong in future updates.

What are you talking about? Tir Na Nog = Erinn, Another World = Alternate world that died due to some events that I forgot about. They are not the same. :I

Honestly nobody really cares that much. Are you going to waste your time typing in "Another World" instead of "TNN" in party signs?
Not to mention, it's not even that important. You're calling the place Tir Na Nog when it isn't the real Tir Na Nog. Big f*cking deal. If everyone else has been calling the place TNN, I'm just going to go along with it instead of being super special and correcting them on it since it won't do jack correcting people.

There's no problem as long as people know that TNN is Erinn and not Another World. The problem here IS that people think TNN IS Another World, which is a major reference to the story. Nobody cares about the story (from what I see), but shouldn't people at least know something like that? This isn't about being a grammar Nazi or something like that, it isn't something like "Formor vs Fomor" (I wish it was, at least people got the main thing straight), but about something essential to the story (again, nobody cares). So why do people complain about mistranslations, but no one points out about the community's faults? (I did 8D).
About wasting time....I did mention that "AW" is more time efficient than "TNN".
:XD:
