Japanese men quizzed on which of the prevailing female beliefs about men’s romantic attitudes to women they consider to be wholly misguided provide a ranking of the most egregiously wrong.
The ranking:
1. Men just love a good layer of makeup on a woman
2. Men like skinny women
3. Men like women with big breasts
4. Men love women who are self-indulgent
5. Men adore the scent of perfume
6. Men are great fans of frilly/lacy clothing
7. Men just can’t see through a woman acting cute ["burikko"]
8. Men don’t like women who exhibit a healthy appetite
9. Men always love young women
10. Men don’t say “I love you†because they don’t really love you

Hahahahaa, its so accurate I don't even know. I agree with all of these.
Girls sometimes do a lot of things to try to please their man but we end up disliking it and not saying anything about it, because we're just awful at conveying our thoughts.

Hey I like number 6

That list is so accurate D:
1. Men just love a good layer of makeup on a woman
I hate makeup, show me the real you or gtfo.
2. Men like skinny women
I like fit women, skinny to the point where I can see your ribs grosses me out.
3. Men like women with big breasts
While big breasts are nice, it doesn't mean it's a requirement.
4. Men love women who are self-indulgent
Don't care about that
5. Men adore the scent of perfume
Perfume makes my throat dry and I start to cough.
6. Men are great fans of frilly/lacy clothing
Maybe the ones with maid fetishes... I much prefer they not have clothes at all, if we're talking about the bedroom.
7. Men just can’t see through a woman acting cute ["burikko"]
I find women who force themselves to be cute to actually look like retards, especially the ones who change their voice.
8. Men don’t like women who exhibit a healthy appetite
Food kicks ass, eat all you want and i'll eat with you.
9. Men always love young women
I like women around my age group.
10. Men don’t say “I love you†because they don’t really love you
Say it when it's relevant, too often seems creepy.

My Take:
1. Men just love a good layer of makeup on a woman
I hate it when they apply so much makeup. I mean a little bit is fine, but makeup is practically all out deception. We really just want to see your real face.
2. Men like skinny women
Personally I prefer girls with a little bit of meat on them.
3. Men like women with big breasts
I don't really worry about breast size. No matter how flat you are you're probably going to have enough.
4. Men love women who are self-indulgent
Not on my radar as far as importance goes.
5. Men adore the scent of perfume
Hate hate hate perfume.
6. Men are great fans of frilly/lacy clothing
Hmm... one exception here. I do like frill/lace clothing, but not always. It depends on the place and the clothes itself.
7. Men just can’t see through a woman acting cute ["burikko"]
What Osayidan said. 1000%. Its sickening and gross and an absolute turn off.
8. Men don’t like women who exhibit a healthy appetite
I recently decided not to ask a girl out on grounds that she's a vegetarian. My girl is going to eat all sorts of foods and love it.
9. Men always love young women
Not particularly true, though its most appropriate to say we should stick to our age group.
10. Men don’t say “I love you†because they don’t really love you
We're really not good at saying things that are on our minds. Especially embarrassing things like this.

I like it when women dress up for formal events and wear make-up.
They always look gorgeous.

I've always found this odd. haha
Why is it so hard to say what's on your mind?

Number 1 is good to know. I hate the feel of makeup on my face but my mom and sister have always told me I need to wear something or men won't take a look.

The place? aren't all location a good place to show up in cute and stylish clothing full of frill or with only some?

I don't know how to explain it. I think there was a research on it though, going into how men have a harder time conveying their feelings and putting their thoughts into verbal usage.
Theres also social conditioning. The concept of men needing to be tough as nails just driven into our brains since birth, tends to effect us whether we want to or not. Though that doesn't seem to be as commonplace anymore. I was raised by a very conservative narrow minded woman who was raised in a military family.
Saying "I love you" on paper is pretty easy. Letting the words come from my mouth is hard. Something inside me pulls it back.
That doesn't mean I don't love the person enough.

I don't think its appropriate to show up everywhere like that.

1. Men just love a good layer of makeup on a woman
A little make up is fine, if it's only just to highlight features, like a thin line from eyeliner. If I wanted to date a clown, I'd join the freaking circus.
2. Men like skinny women
I also like women with a little meat on them. I don't want to have to worry about cuddling and holding them without snapping them in half because they have nothing to protect their bones. D:
3. Men like women with big breasts
While I like a woman on the slightly bustier side compared to the flater side, there is a limit. I'd much rather date a girl that has a concave bustline compared to a girl that needs a crane to carry her breasts around.
4. Men love women who are self-indulgent
Depends on what she's indulging in. If she wants an ice cream cone, even though she's trying to lose weight, I wouldn't mind. But if she wants an ice cream cone, and makes an ice cream shop close for the day when she's done, then no.
5. Men adore the scent of perfume
Depends on the scent. Flowery, "pretty" scents, no. Women might like those smells, but I don't really care for them. If a woman wants to wear perfume for her man, then she better pick out a scent he likes. Bacon, for example, will make a good 99% of men never want to give up their woman. Other such scents are "Fresh cut grass", "new car smell", and things along those lines. They smell fresh, and shouldn't gross a woman out, but those scents definitely won't make a man crinkle up his nose at first smell.
6. Men are great fans of frilly/lacy clothing
Once in a while is okay for me. I can see why some guys don't like it, but once in a while, they're quite nice. But if it's constant, then I know I might tire of it eventually.
7. Men just can’t see through a woman acting cute ["burikko"]
Well, I like girls that are "tsundere", which is quite similar to this, with the only exception being that a burikko is normally tough, and acts cute, where as the tsundere is normally cute, but puts on an act that makes her seem like she's not. If I do fall in love with a girl that's normally tough, then I rather have her continuing to be herself instead of trying to put on an act. At least with tsunderes, once you get past that shell and reach that cute center, they generally stay that way until you do something stupid to turn them back into a tsundere.
8. Men don’t like women who exhibit a healthy appetite
Wrong. I would much rather go out with a woman that eats all the things I do, and is willing to eat them. Then we can share our foods and get close and enjoy each other's company. If a girl is a picky eater, and won't eat certain things, then we won't be able to share food. If a girl doesn't want to eat, then what's the point of taking them out to dinner in the first place? If they didn't want to eat, then we could have just stayed home and watched a movie or something. But get a girl that likes food, and will eat the food, we can order two different meals, split them in half/mix them on one plate, and feed each other, and have a good time.
9. Men always love young women
Yes and no. My age preference is my age +/- 3 years (meaning that I could have gone to high school with her), and I lean more towards the girls that are younger than me. But I'm only 22 right now. Let's say 20 years down the line, and I'm back on the market. I'd rather go out with an older woman than a girl, because an older woman will probably more willing to commit than a girl would.
10. Men don’t say “I love you†because they don’t really love you
Some guys have problems with speaking with their hearts, some don't. I didn't have any problems when I was with Fal telling her that I loved her, and actually felt awkward if I didn't tell her I loved her. Of course, I didn't make it a habit to tell her every three seconds that I loved her, because there's a difference between showing your emotions, and overbearing them and forcing them on someone. Really, more than once a day on a normal day, or during/after an intimate moment is, in my opinion, kind of forcing my love on to them and could push them away from me instead of the opposite.

Maybe old school guys, but not necessarily everyone. Some men are actually very expressive and creative with their feelings.
We should all try to be. haha
Makes things fun.

Number 10 ain't true I do have trouble expressing my feeling which is why I like to keep them hidden but just cause I don't say doesn't mean I don't love you.

My turn!
1. Men just love a good layer of makeup on a woman
In my opinion, makeup is best for public appearance where you're trying to look fashionable or prim to everybody, rather than finding men. It's more like makeups better for having a status statement than to look approachable.
2. Men like skinny women
I prefer average size, but if I had to choose between two polarities, I'd rather be with a girl who's slightly more round than a girl who's slightly more skinny.
3. Men like women with big breasts
I actually like smaller breast sizes! Any is fine, but smaller ones are better! (Except if it becomes pretty much non-existent)
4. Men love women who are self-indulgent
It's fine to indulge... to a point. Ladies, if you don't like men who overindulgent with things like alcohol or sports, you'll understand.
5. Men adore the scent of perfume
I absolutely cannot stand perfume (or cologne). It causes my throat to feel oily and constricted whenever I come into contact with it.
6. Men are great fans of frilly/lacy clothing
Maybe underwear, sure. But not clothes. Not only do they mislead on the woman's body curve, but they get in the way sometimes.
7. Men just can’t see through a woman acting cute ["burikko"]
Maybe men who are too lovestruck and blind, sure. Faking isn't that helpful.
8. Men don’t like women who exhibit a healthy appetite
I'm okay with however and whenever she wants to eat. I may go nuts if she's extremely picky, but at the same time, I believe the sense of taste shouldn't be suppressed, nor a body's hunger.
9. Men always love young women
Not for me. First, it looks awkward, especially in public. Second, her interests will have a more likely chance of being very different from mine, so how would we relate? Third, choosing from younger women will have a more likely possibility of being with someone less mature than me.
10. Men don’t say “I love you†because they don’t really love you
Or... they are simply just more hesitant at expressing their emotions than women. More likely, I'm assuming. Generally, I try to keep my mentality separate from my emotions, so I do happen to think about my emotions before expressing them.
And of course, it doesn't mean I don't love you if I don't say it.
