  For sure, we're all for life and for choice. An ounce of prevention > a pound of cure, but not everyone has the maturity to take precautions, and even then, accidents still happen. Do what you can for yourself, and as for others...we take care of them how we can.

  I should have made the disputed question clearer: When does life as a human begin? A human fetus is very similar to other mammalian fetuses as well while in the early stages of development.

  
  
  If I remember my biology correctly, menstruation happens when the egg has been there for too long and therefore unable to produce a fetus. While the appearance of all mammal fetuses are similar, their genetic codes (which ultimately determines what they are) are very different. The life of a human being begins at conception (That's when they get the full 46 chromosomes).

  Which is still up to interpretation. Until Washington can come to a consensus about changing the definition of life, I don't think abortion is going to be illegal for a while.
  
  The aborting of a fetus is much more than just the killing of a future person. Is that future adult going to find more comfort in his/her street gang rather than with the parents that never wanted him/her? Will that adult become a misanthropic person, or a person who embraces others? Granted, these are generalizations, but not all people who have sex and produce a fetus are up to the task of raising a child well. I feel that refusing to understand the difficulty in raising and providing for children is very inconsiderate and that we need to place ourselves in the shoes of parents that consider abortion as an option. They may not have the resources, compassion, and willpower that we do. Is abortion in all cases justified? Not always. But then again, are all wars justified? Some may have a good reason for doing so.

  Well I made it clear that a fetus is indeed a living being using the Law of Biogenesis earlier. Like I said earlier, if the parents can't raise the baby, they can always put it up for adoption. Furthermore, why even have sex in the first place if one does not even want a baby? The main purpose of sex is to reproduce and pass on genes.

  You forget that that bunch of cells has all the genetic information it needs to make all those organs.
  
  Now while I am against birth control, I do not consider abortion and birth control to be equal in terms of how bad it is. Birth control is merely stopping the pregnancy from happening while abortion is killing an already formed, developing human being. It's sort of like the difference between stopping a farmer from growing tomatoes and burning down a field of already growing tomato plants. The latter is worse than the former because the farmer loses all the tomato seeds while the former situation allows the farmer to just grow the seeds later. Not the best analogy, but that's all I got for now.
  
  When you boil it all down though, abortion for the most part is just a means for irresponsible people to have sex without having to take the responsibility of raising a child; and the government has no obligation to accommodate for those people by legalizing it.

  Throwing the responsibility onto someone else's shoulders is not a good alternative. The government has a good reason for legalizing abortion. As I said, there are social repercussions.
  
  Why have sex? Orgasms feel good, and some people frankly don't know better. That is why people are trying to better educate others about birth control and abstinence.
