I be Dark Knight, and teach dark magic. Practically a magician, that does strange experiments.

Also, just level up skills, I think. Skill trees are a bit too complicated.
Or, possible two trees that are very diverse, like for a general mage, one is for healing, and one is for damage dealing. But, you shouldn't have to choose between one tree and the other, but you can get skills from both.
I guess, in that regard, each class ought to have a trainer. Or, it can be like in FF games where you can buy one type of magic and it can be used by multiple classes.

I guess I'll be a Cleric. :/
In case you missed that part, staff members will most likely be the only PCs. Do you want to be the town healer?

The skill tree allows for up to 3 branches. Personally, I don't want the skill tree because it is a lot more work.
As for buying magic, I could probably pull it off but I would probably only do it for like uber special magic attacks. I could also have accesories that give characters new skills. For example, if you were a DK but wanted healing, you could attach a "Cure Bracelet" and have that skill.

Name: Psychiatrist
Description: You step into the Psychiatrist's office and a disarming smile greets you, a smile that makes you just want to divulge your darkest secrets: your childhood, lovers, even dark thoughts you try to hide in the deepest crevices of your mind. However, even before you step into the room, he knows these things. For behind his charming face lies a mind colder than death's embrace and sharper than the edge of oblivion.
Additional Info: My character could probably restore mana or maybe be a class trainer, but being a NPC without a role would work for me too.

Ah, I see.
Can I sell some black/unique uber-special magic attacks?!

We'll see. While I do want to give people what they want, there will definitely be some compromises.

Hmm, I think classes are useless unless you're going to have a job system similar to FFIII/V/XI or Dragon Quest III/VI/VII/IX where the characters can change jobs at whim, with a temporary penalty to stats/abilities for a certain amount of time. Otherwise, with the amount of playable characters (25 to be exact, if you're including all staff members that had power), you have to come up with either 25 classes, with each one unique to each staff member based on what people think that staff member's attitude/actions/etc. You can also make a job system similar to Fire Emblem, though again, you'll have to make special classes for each staff member, so that they're unique compared to the other staff members, even if they share a common base class.
Personally, if there is to be a job system, I would come up with a general list of classes for every character, then from that list, pick 4-5 classes that best represent each staff member personally that the player can choose from for each character. This way, it will let the player have some customized, and well rounded parties without making everyone end up exactly the same as each other, with the exception of base stats and appearance.

Oh yeah, I guess while I still can, I'd like to switch from a Mage to being a Gunner (if there are guns in the game, if not, would prefer to be a Thief).
As for class suggestions, I'd suggest things such as :
Maidens (Like Bards, except their buffs are stronger, as well as their healing. Balanced out by lower health and weaker spells).
Tamer (Uses spells that summon their personal beasts to fight for them. Have high defense. Casts buffs on themselves that make their summons stronger).
Oh, geez, dibs on Tamer.
That sounds awesome.

First of all, I definitely won't have every staff member. I didn't get to know certain staff members like Tofu or Valix well enough and I wasn't part of Guru until August '08. The staff members will most likely be the ones I've listed off, which, unless I'm missing someone, are the members who were or are part of Nation. Valix was there in the beginning, I believe, but he quickly became inactive. Now if you are also referring to Event Helpers, I may add them in. I am unsure, though.
The characters, for the most part, have their own unique class. RPG Maker has you make classes (skills, equipment, etc.) and then has you assign that class to a character (unique stats and other properties). Some characters do share the same class for a reason. Here's the main example: Byte is a Thief, however, Byte leaves the staff. Time then joins the staff as the new Thief because that void needs to be filled. The big one is Clerics who I have assigned to two old staff members and one current. That allows for the staff to almost always been a Cleric available despite losing two old Clerics (Zeph and Fal).
I could also do a job system. I believe there is a well crafted job changer script somewhere. It should be easy to find.

You'll probably charge them.
