We're also looking for some artists that also want to be part of this glorious site collab. We're open to all people that want to apply, where the only condition is that you're willing to accept that you won't be paid for this, since this is a non-profit indy game after all. Preferably, we'd like at least one person, that will do all the art, though, as Mop says, "the more the merrior *merrier", so we won't turn down anyone, though if your artistic abilities are like mine, worse than the sprites of the characters posted, then we'll still take you, though you'll mostly be doing conceptual artwork, especially for monsters. Though, if we get many people willing to do the art, then we'll divide it into two or three categories, depending on the amount of people wanting to take part (character and monster art are what we're hoping for the minimum, and miscellaneous art if we have a good number of people, where this category ranges from sprite work, battle animations, backgrounds, etc).
Composers are needed as well. Currently, we have no music aside from the default RPGM music, as well as potential arrangements/remixes of Mabi/Vindi/LoZ songs, and we'd really love it if some of you who are talented in music to come up with some songs for us. You don't have to do the entire soundtrack, a few original songs is more than enough. This is a great way of showing people your talents if you want to do so in an "anonymous" manner (we'll still give you credit for your songs, though no one will know it's your song unless they read the credits), as well as doing us a huge favor for something we're doing for the community.
And finally, we're looking for three alpha testers, who will obviously test the game prior to being released to the public in a beta version (which I'm going to guess where the main game is fully completed, and will update it with any missing artwork/music as needed in future updates, but you'll have to ask Mop what his plans for testing is going to be). This is a great way to give us feed back on the story, as well as finding bugs in the systems, purposely trying to destroy the game (not the actual game, but just your game) and any comments and concerns about the game in general. Since we're only opening to a few members, you'll get a spot in the credits (not the "And everyone who is or was a member of MabiNation" or equivalent either), you must not leak the game to other members, as well as stay up to date with the programming team and actively looking for the above things mentioned.
If you think you want to be part of the team, then follow the instructions for what you're applying for.
A) Artists just send an example of your artwork in a PM to
NationRPGMailbox, the team's junk account to receive all the PMs we get to save our inboxes from getting filled. If you apply to be an artist, you will almost be guaranteed accepted, the artwork example is just for all of those who want to be on the art team to compare and decide who the main character/monster artists are going to be, just for consistency in the game's artwork. We will credit everyone that applies and submits some concept art to the game after being notified that they have been approved, and we will find a place for everyone (assuming we don't literally get a hundred plus people apply to be artists), and hopefully a possible art gallery that has all the concept art, and other artwork related to the game, to showcase everyone's work, and not just the head artists.
B) Composers, just send us your songs, with song title, and optionally, a short description about the song to
NationRPGMailbox.
There is a custom script that let's the game play all of the songs in the game, both actually played and unused, as well as let the composer comment on the song, similar to how ZUN does it with his games, so a little about what you were originally going for with the song would be a nice addition. Though it won't be necessary, and the other team members can make a comment on it, though it just won't be as personal as the one who actually made the song.
C) If you would like to be an alpha tester, please send a PM to
NationRPGMailbox with a list of your 5 favorite games, and 2-3 sentences explaining why you like each of those games. If you have any experience in alpha testing, please provide your experience. Remember, this position, unlike artists and composers, is limited, so we can't accept everyone, so if you are seriously interested in this position, please send us an application.
