Update on team members:
Moppy, Rain and I are still pretty much just throwing ideas at each other, though our roles within the game are starting to take shape.
Mop's the team leader, as well as head programmer. He's the one that's going to be setting any timelines/quota for the release of the game, as well as working out the mechanics of the actual gameplay, such as battle system, any possible minigames, and things of that nature.
I have sorta fallen into the role of head storywriter (though haven't gotten too far with the plot yet, due to it still being in the brainstorming phase), so you'll get to see just what things run through my head about events within the community, as well as in general. It'll probably be a bit rough after I give out the ideas and write the story, so I wouldn't mind if someone would go through my story and smooth it out and make it a little nicer to play with~
Rain is the events guy. He's the one that will be taking my story, and making it fit in with Mop's game, with things like multiple choice, and [s]multiple[/s] altered endings. Rain also said that he'll help out with some sprites/skill animations, as well as helping Mop with some of the programming.
Those are our main roles, and again, we'll throw ideas to each other to help keep things interesting, and flow better for the game when it reaches beta/official launch (beta, being the full story and gameplay being operational, though missing things like art/music and optional features).
We also have had two people apply to be alpha testers, and we'll close applications for those positions one week after we receive our third applicant. This way, we are guaranteed to have our three alpha testers that we want, but still allows people to have a chance once we get that 3rd application so that it's not a first come, first serve position.
Then, we also at the moment have two people who are interested in coming up with music for this game, which is awesome, since Mop, Rain and I thought that the music was going to be the hardest things to get for this game, and we would have to end up [s]stealing[/s] borrowing, with credit, other people's music, even though this is a game for the MabiNation community, not just a game about the MabiNation community. [s]Though as of this moment, we are going to be using
this song for a boss battle against an unknown opponent, even if we have a ton of your music available to use in the same battle, Mop and I have deemed it so, because it's so awesome[/s].
But then again, we haven't had
anybody send us an application to be an artist for this game. We've had people in this thread say that they are interested in possibly doing sprites for us, possibly doing maps, as well as doing character/monster art, but no applications yet. Don't be shy, artists, just send
this guy your artwork if you're even remotely interested. If you need inspiration, then I suggest a modification to Mop's template, and have you send us a single monster design, as well as a character portrait, similar to what you would find in old school RPGs before they all became 3D and had voices. We really could use some artwork to make this game very prettiful.
Also, just to note, we may or may not be opening up some voice work. While Mop said earlier in the thread that there won't be any voices for this game, due to file size restrictions he's trying for, he is more than willing to have voice overs for when characters use their ultimate attack (and if the file size stays within range after voices, we might do voices for important scenes as well, but don't quote me on that), so be on the look out for future announcements if you'd like to do some voice over work.
