I'm true to the pre-Next mecha simply because once the Nexts rolled in, it was like "Oh okay, old ACs are more like MTs compared to Nexts now."
Really made the Nexts feel like super robots is what I'm getting at xD
I'm glad they're going old school with AC5
Btw have you played any of the Ps2 Armored Cores? I've only played Last Raven which was the last one on the Ps2 and apparently the hardest one on that console due to how they tweaked the game so everything felt more "realistic" (basically ACs got nerfed).

i played the very first one for ps1. ultimately forgot about the franchise until the ac4 release for ps3. Yea going back to the old tactical gameplay is a really great move. Not that i'm not a fan of the more recent open world dog fights. And the new operator role is kickass and sounds like a fun role to play.

Code Geass
Ghost in the Shell
Full Metal Panic
Simoun
Macross Frontier
School Days (lol joke)
I hated Evangelion. I kept expecting it to get better and it never did. It was just depressing and boring all the way through for me. Worst ever was Eureka Seven... I hated that anime so much. It's the only one I even deleted because it was so bad.

I'm surprised you didn't at least like Evangelion when things started to kick up around ep 18. That's when the craziness began. Though, it really is a love it or hate it show. Have you watched the new movies? They're notably less depressing. 2.0 even had some epicness come fronm Shinji. And you didn't like E7? Man, I loved most of the anime as well as the music in that show. Surfing robots were pretty damn awesome and original. Not gonna' lie though, I hated the fact that they just threw stuff into the plot at the very last second. It was like "oh yeah we forgot to tell you..." I did like how it was a coming of age story though. Renton in the end was a boss.

Rendon and those little retarded ugly kids were the ugliest most annoying anime characters I have ever seen in my life, and Rendon was so immature and stupid and a spoiled little brat... and it was all like some stupid skater punk crap that I couldn't stand in general.
I truly hated it. I really did.
As for Evangelion... I didn't bother giving it any more of my time after Neon Genesis Evangelion was such an utter failure in my book.

/sadface
He changes a lot, matures up, compared to the beginning to the end. I mean a lot. Also, everyone hates those kids.

I played the EU version :P
NA version should be out sometime next month. Make sure you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT watch the trailers. They spoil EVERYTHING.
Oh you cheater lol. I haven't seen any of the trailers, just read a few articles about it. Should be out in the next couple weeks or so.

SHIN GETTER!!! OHHHH SNAP! how did i forget about him XD
Quote from Mentosftw:
Shin Getter is badass. Dual wielding axes? Hell yes.
Pretty much the entire series is badass lol. My favorite being Getter Robo Go.

To each their own I suppose.

Fun fact, those orphan kids were a reference to the 3 orphans on White Base in the original Gundam. I hated them then, and I hated the kids in E7 as well, but, I just tried to get over them. Some of the moments like that whole deal with Charles and Ray made E7 awesome. Paul is right also, Renton really mans up in the end. The show is really a coming of age story when you look at it.
If you thought Eureka 7's kids were bad, try watching Victory Gundam. You'd have had to deal with an idiot girl who gets kidnapped every couple episodes because she thinks the enemy will negotiate, a crying baby, AND a dog. Why is a dog being brought along with a resistance group?! But damn were the mecha and the battle choreography awesome. The kids in E7 were more unbearable than the ones in Mobile Suit Gundam, but, without a doubt, Victory's crew of idiots were much more unbearable to the point where I wanted to drop it. And of course, there were just those awesome moments in it as well that made me not regret watching through all the way.

You forgot the part where
everyone dies. Seriously, Tomino didn't really pull punches with deaths on that series...Only people who were really left were Usso, Katejina, Karlman, Shakti...And the dog.
And I didn't really care much for E7 until SRW Z was announced. In SRW Z they did a good job having Duey as like the one pulling the strings of the corrupt Earth Federation of World B, but of course. Once he was gone. ANOTHER threat came. But that's usually how SRW games go. Hell, when I first played Alpha 3. I thought Muge was the final boss. Because he was HARD, and he summoned illusions of other major Super Robot series bosses, like The Ankoku Daishogun from Mazinger, Emperor Goru and Emperor Brai from Getter Robo, lots of other bosses I don't remember.
But I really crapped my pants when I had to fight Kaiser Ephes.
I didn't care about most of the cast to be honest, and I'm used to Tomino's kill em' all reputation fom Zeta. A story about war seems more realistic when people actually die I guess. But, when Odelo died I was like noooooooo! He was one of the few good characters. That part with the stupid wheel land battle ships where Usso's mom gets killed was pretty dramatic. Also, killing off the entire Shrike team one by one, and the Bikini Assault Babes getting beam sabered... Victory sure had a high body count.
T.T E7 was one of my favorite series while i was in high school...
But yeah, everyone hates the kids. Loved it for the giant surfing robots, the strange world they lived in and way the robots got melted whenever they got shot with lasers.
I'm surprised SRW has been mentioned but not SRWOG.. the mecha designs were great, they made homage to many past robots I think even Tomino designed one of them (Huckbein I think). Oh, and the characters were great too.

Well....SRWOG hasn't had as big as of an impression as the normal main series to me. Sure, there's MANY MANY things I like about it. Hell, I could play OG Gaiden all day because of it's cast. But, there's something about using units from your favorite anime series that makes a game SO replayable/fun
