Sloth
Lust maybe
Wrath
Gluttony
@the discussion about how serious you have to be for it to count. People have many different ideas on this, because it's not really specified. For example, with gluttony, some people think that even eating anything at all is gluttony (which is obviously ridiculous because we have to eat to live.) But i personally think that we all have these traits in us, because we are all sinners by nature. Some people might show a certain trait more than others, but i think that it's all in us.
Yerp. It's why I call them the 7 traits of humanity.
I agree.
Each of the seven cardinal vices has a corresponding virtue, so each of them is more like sliding scale. Some people are closer to the virtue, some people hold more of the vice.
Lust - Chastity
Gluttony - Temperance
Greed - Chastity
Sloth - Diligence
Wrath - Patience
Envy - Kindness
Pride - Humility
Everyone has a little bit of each.
Yerp. It's why I call them the 7 traits of humanity.
But like all humans, we have things unique to us. Some of us have certain ones that stand out, while others don't.
I think if it is severe enough to effect your life in a negative way then yes, you have those sins, for example..
wrath; you abuse people, let your anger run you, kill people, etc.
gluttony; you become severely obese (see: Se7en)
sloth; you do nothing but sit at home. let your laziness control and dictate your life.
greed; taking more than you need and/or stealing from those who are just as poor as you without remorse, etc
pride; being completely and utterly vain, to the point of extreme self-love, always thinking your right, being overly proud of things of that nature.
envy; letting your envy get the better of you, + combining it with another of the 7 deadly sins into something drastic.
lust; being relentless in your pursue of lust, doing things to satisfy it that are immoral or wrong in other ways (i.e. sleeping with a married man), etc
to me, that is what classifies truly 'having' those sins.
Under those conditions, I am a Saint.
