I know the show has been on a downhill for a long-ass time.
(After the Johto Region, in my honest opinion.)
However, this really takes the cake for how much it's dead to me now.

Found this on Tumblr this morning, from a post that was posted on Friday of this week.
Honestly, I couldn't believe my eyes on this and really thought this was a horrible joke.
It's no lie, it's official that an antagonist has switched to protagonist.
(Unless it's a scheme of getting Pikachu, but I don't keep up with Pokemon at all.)
What's your thoughts on this?

pokemon is dead to me... he had a good back story he had some good reasons but he was too much comic relief and not only that, team rocket got old.
pokemon it self had its own formula. introduce new pokemon > team rocket sees it and they want it > ash makes friends with it or its trainer > team rocket steals it > ash and co get it back > everyone goes home with a smile. or meowth and pikachu get seperated and join up to get back > make friends > meowth betrayal > try to steal pikachu > ash and co save him > everybody goes home with a smile. then throw in contests, some training arches, a rival battle, some kind of gimmick battle or gym battle and there you go.
it used to be a big part of my life now its just lame. also ash never gets to win the championship which is an eternal tease. you're supposed to root for him and he always derps up at the end. this makes me really sad though.

If it's still on the air, it obviously isn't dead to the targeted children audience~

The entire series besides the games have been dead to me for awhile. The games are starting to get sort of.. eh, but are still enjoyable.

The games are very enjoyable to me, but the anime is just a blah.
Pokemon is like One Piece, just continues on and on with no point of the story moving for dozens of episodes.
That's why I don't watch ridiculously long animes.
Too many episodes, barely any progress in the story.

The first season or more - even if I don't remember much of them - is the only time Pokemon was worthwhile, and a good plot.
It made me dead a little inside wshen they took Brock away, and I heard of Mewoth going with Ash-and-his-new-friends-who-don't-matter-to-me a little over a week ago.
I still have "Pokemon the First Movie" from my ~6th Christmas :gloom2:

Who knows, maybe it's a temporary thing. I'm sure he'll go back.

She normally carries Kibago/Axew in her hair but I don't see it in that picture.
I pretty much skipped from early Johto to Best Wishes, I actually like it >_>.
I never liked Team Rocket but they're actually competent in BW, which is why Meowth/Nyarth got kicked off (it failed a mission and almost died when it was roaming around and Ash/Iris/Dent helped it)
Also each char has a rival now
The games are okay, BW was too focused on making pretty things and felt like it was testing things with expanding it's communication features more than expanding the fun things to do after E4 which I didn't like.

I really don't see the problem with Meowth joining Ash. In many episodes, including a few of the original, Team Rocket and Team Ash had to team up to get out of some shenanigans. For a while, I always viewed Team Rocket equal to that of Bulk and Skull from Power Ranges, comedic to the audience but a great bother to the protagonists. Though it doesn't excuse how, well, bad some of the episodes are. I found some of episodes really corny and cheesy. I haven't watched the anime as much ever since they changed the original 4kids voice actors.
