I've considered for a few years, and sometime in the middle of next year, I'm planning to get my name legally changed.
I'm looking for something that:
-Looks and sounds appealing.
-Easy to pronounce, even to those that somehow manage to switch a female name into its male version every single time for half a year. :fail3:
-Female.
-I don't particularly care about origin, as long as it's not obviously translated by pronunciation from another language.
I went through a couple sites, down the alphabet, but that's proving to take a long long while, and it's always better to have more opinions. Any ideas anyone?
I had no idea where to put this aside from here. Since I'm looking for serious responses, I didn't chuck it in Bean Rua. o.e Mods, please move it if it doesn't belong here.

Cassandra or Scarlet, if you're looking for a very robust name.

Tiffany
Tasha
Monica
Jennifer
Those are my favorite standard female names.
Of course, you could always go with something crazy like Opehlia. Or, if you want random strange names...
Rika Koto
Uguu Desu
Noni
Fukinyu Soon (rofl)
Shompoong
Diablo El Diablo Del Diablo
Koku Wakushu
Shin bin Shini
Rikimori Sentori
Hakufu Genpaku
I have all sorts of hilarious names I've written down... lol, you could even go for the last name... Vanderslut! Or, or... the first name... Suspicioucus!

Ashlynn?
Or maybe Evelynn?
What about Cliona or Cloda?
The only names I can think of.

Lolol @ TA
Just remembered some other details.
-Don't really want a common name. Would prefer a unique one over common.
As for personality, I've never really been quite feminine according to family/friends. I use the grab and go technique for shopping, is rough with most things, no interest in "girly" things, etc. Given a choice between playing with Barbies or Hotwheels, I chose the latter. /supervagueinsufficientdescription. Hard to describe considering my disorders and stuff, but ^ best I could do. I don't really believe names have to go with personalities (especially when it's given by parents) but since I do have a choice here...
-Would rather stay away from the -y names, like Amy, Lilly, etc.
For personal reasons, I rather not list my actual name (As my previous guild knows quite well ^O^), but it's short, old fashioned, horrid meaning (considering that's why my mother chose it), quite a pain to both the eye and ear, and people kept calling me by the male version. ._.

Scarlet is common enough that people won't give you weird looks, but it's unique enough that you might never meet someone with the same name. It's a name that suggests a mix of masculinity as an undertone for the femininity (i.e. sensual and forthcoming.) And it doesn't end in "Y".
(All those apply to Cassandra, but to a lesser extent.)

Evelynn/Cassandra seems decent so far. *add to list*
I do like some of these in writing (Such as Maeve) but when I reconsider how it sounds and how people will magically butcher it ...@_@;
Going to need to do several cleaning rounds and kick off the least appealing ones in the end. o.e
/pickypickyperson
Edit: Scarlet does fit exactly what I'm looking for, but the fact that it's associated with a color kind of stops me there especially since I don't like bright red. :P
