Of course, if you can't learn to love your name, then by all means change it. haha
Just give it a shot first. Sometimes people learn to recognize the value of something after they lose it and I don't want that to be the case here.
I'm absolutely certain I won't regret it. The reason behind the change to some people would be "I don't like the name." The real reason behind the change, to some other people, is different. I can't pretend what happened these past years never happened (/wontgointodetailwiththat), but it is quite the unpleasant reminder. A name change signifies something much more important for me.
Thanks for your advice though.
I do like many of the new suggestions, but none that has "clicked" yet. All the same, I'm adding them to the list for review in a couple months in case I feel differently then. A lot of important mindset altering things can happen in a couple months. o.e

La-A.
Lmao...
Anyways be unique, name it something you'd never hear as a name. My little brother's name is Legend. I'm not joking.

How about you learn to love your name for what it is?
Unless it's something unappealing like Shawakatifa or Helga, I don't think your name can be so bad.
Names don't "fit" personalities. They don't make them. Personalities make the name.
I think people can do what they want with their name. Just because you don't think it's that bad doesn't mean they won't, and you're not the one that's going to get followed by their name.
Personally, I wish my middle name was my first name, since a lot of paperwork omits my middle name or reduces it to a middle initial. Both my names are supposed to be said together, but if people are going to pick one, I'd rather they go with Elena.
@Paul: La dash A?

Should definitely go for Isabella *cough*.
Do like Sierra though.
As a side note, I'd prefer something which doesn't require people to ask "Now how do you spell that?" Or at least it's short enough I don't have to repeat several times before they get it.
Edit: Went through entire alphabet and ended up with...
Adalia
Arya
Cassandra
[S]Leah[/S]
[S]Rea[/S]
[S]Verena[/S]
Kyra
Lyra
Yup a lot of them sound the same. /picky e.o
Anyone have something to add?

That's my name~
Personally I don't think you should choose Cassandra. I think it's a rather dull name that's entirely too used, I've met quite a few Cassandra's. I do like Adalia though.
