Thank you.
We finally got this old laptop back from my Mom's ex so we're hoping to sell it for half or so of it's original cost; so like $500. It won't really do anything unless we can sell it by tomorrow-ish, but yeah. We're hoping to find some way to get him in ASAP.
We can't afford pet insurance (my Mom doesn't even have her own insurance; I get medical coupons from the state) even if we wanted to, but the Vet is pretty nice so maybe we can work something out. The Lady at the front desk already tried offering us the best she could doctor wise since our Rat's normal doctor is busy.
@ Kav;
What, because humans are "better" than animals? Lol~. I see so many humans walking around that are worth less than dirt. I have animals because I enjoy their company and I can form amazing bonds with them. I've been able to feel more love and caring for an animal than I have my "fellow humans".
Go complain to rich people who dump their money into useless sh*t, not me. It's their fault the economy sucks, which you should know, since you seem to be all high and mighty about what you assume you already know.
Trying to b*tch at me for owning a pet and treating them fairly is redundant as hell. Anyone who treats an animal less than what they deserve doesn't deserve to live as a human being. Humans need to stop with their false sense of entitlement issues, fo srs.
Edit; turns out it was a mistake on my Mom's part. She has to call on Sundays to confirm the deposit or something and because she called after 5pm, they deposited it late. We'll have the money tomorrow.
Stupid rule is stupid and I hate to wait, but Kurt is pretty fudgin' brave, so I think he'll be aight. That's kind of a load off my shoulders.
Ever stop and wonder if that same mentality qualifies you as trash as well? People aren’t born trash, and trash can still be recycled. Humans make better companions than animals, it’s because we’re human, we can understand each other; I guess you wouldn’t know would you?
I don’t believe my statement excludes those that warp your jealousy, do you really believe it is the rich that are at fault, or are you just too ashamed to admit you let them step over you?
Pets were bred to amuse and perform certain tasks, when their maintenance becomes too much of a hassle they serve little purpose and should be replaced.
Even animals’ claim territory, it is natural for humans to capture and to dominate; it is foolish to believe otherwise, that the world revolves around what one believes to be fair and just.
I just found out that all the clinics in my area all require you to pay up-front, they don't hand you a bill like normal clinics.
Sigh. So retarded.
The rich do as they please, it's not a matter of whether or not you let them step over you. Those in power step on you whether you like it or not, though I assume that was obvious. Unless you yourself are well off, in which case I can see why you'd have such a mindset.Although that does not dismiss my love for ham for Christmas~
Pets are bred for that reason, but that is not why they were created. Humans dominate, but that doesn't make treating animals like garbage justified in any way. Respecting animals is what makes you a good person; humans just think they're better than everyone else because we're oh-so advanced.
You obviously have a superiority issue like most of the human race, however, so I won't bother explaining it.
If it qualifies me as trash, then that's fine~ I'd rather be considered trash by some, but still be better than most overall. :P
/enough off topic though. I'd rather not get this lockificated.
Probably because there is not enough veterinarians willing to run an emergency room in your area? Human emergency room is understandable because the demand there is quite a lot higher. There are FAR more doctors than veterinarians because human health problems are far more numerous (and in higher demand) than animals. This would also mean that veterinarians earn a lot less money than doctors.

They earn less?
I never knew that, but I have almost no knowledge of animal healthcare, much less the human version - that's something new.
The assumption that the rich/in power will step on you whether you like it or not is a pretty broad and unfair assumption. I am pretty sure the poor/powerless would do the same thing. Moral people will do moral things while immoral people will do immoral things. (Don't bother defining what is moral/immoral, it isn't the point)
Actually, without humans, there would be no domestic animals at all. Humans created domestic animals using breeding methods to create the domestic animals we have today. Domestic animals are here to serve humans and help meet human goals. They can no longer go back to the wild.
Veterinarians don't exactly go to Medical school. They go to separate schools. I think their average salary is like 80k?
Doctors can earn more than 100k+? Specialized Doctors (Like Surgeons) can earn even more.
There is a 24/7 animal hospital here in New York. I'm pretty sure they're around, you just gotta look for 'em.
We, Americans, actually care about our animals moreso than other countries, specifically 3rd-world countries.
*nod* S'ppose so. I've seen so many bad pet owners here too. If people don't like animals? Not my problem. But I cannot stand people who buy animals and them treat them like garbage. It's disgusting.
The people who live next door to us got an adorable puppy. I think he's a pit bull. Anyway, they always just leave him outside and it makes me so sad. He's already pretty much all grown up, and he's so sweet. :(
I also think he needs some sort of veterinary attention, because he's got some odd bumps on his head, which are now not really even covered in fur, and a spot on his snout that looks like mold. >.>
I gave him a rawhide though. He ran around his yard with it. x3
Reminds me of my Aunt. She had all the money in the world, but never /actually/ cared for her pets. Their oldest Pup, Bella, had a bunch of lumps on the underside of her legs, but they were like "liek zomg I wonder what that is LOL WATEVER". I don't understand why someone with all that money wastes it on video games, fast food and TV systems but can't spend maybe $30 to get their dog checked out.
Then decent owners like me can't even afford proper care for their pets and have to sit around and watch their animals suffer.
i just don't comprehend wat
