Only if there's sufficient demand and the population makes enough money to pay for such an expense. Sadly, this is considered to be a luxury in any country...

Even if we had one nearby (the nearest was about 40 minutes away) and had the money, I don't think it would have mattered at that point. Kurt couldn't even eat anymore, let alone walk by the end of the night. His organs had been in overdrive for the past some days and were failing. Animals don't have the kind of care available that we have-- there's no defib units or organs transplants, which I imagine we still would have wanted, even if it put us in major debt.
It's my fault for not thinking he was really doing bad early off; he had been sick for awhile. I only noticed him being a literal walking skeleton 2-3 days prior.
So.. at the immediate time, there was nothing we could have done. It was just a matter of waiting until he passed away.
