  My dad and mom think I'm going to be some crazy person with a gun rampage because I kill Infected on Left 4 Dead 2. Yet, they didn't care when I asked them to buy HoTD 2 and 3 for the Wii and I even played it right in front of them. When I play Mabinogi or DFO or any unrelated game to L4D, they're like "oh now you're playing some kiddy game? How can you switch so much? How is this fun to you? All I see is killing, that's all you do in video games(which is quite true though) don't you ever get tired of it?" -_-
  
  But really, they only bug me once a week. My parents are usually outside in the living room watching Chinese Dramas and various Chinese Shows and Sports.

  Honestly the last retail place I worked I would yap about WoW and other MMOs all the time and was referred to as "the game king" rotfl. I started playing mabi just before i quite there too, I managed to convert a few WoW vets considering i quit WoW quite a few years ago now, good times.
  
  In school gaming was my secret life and doing gigs and crap with my '78 King Cobra is all anyone ever saw so people thought i was this cool musician guy. I'm just another nerd though deep inside, but my generation at my high school lacked gamers so i was all alone DX.

  Do something like farming or fishing and see what their reactions are like.
  
  I personally feel conflict in video games are unavoidable, yet it doesn't have to be about that all the time.

  My older sis makes fun of me too, but its funny XD. If I went on vent or something my parents would want to join in or "WHO YOU TALKING TO!?" Good thing I dun have a mic. But I still go on vents for FPS games where you don't have time to type as much

  My dad's a gamer but he likes shoot em ups, flying sim combat games (he watches me play HIS online a lot). Yeah not any RPG stuff, and he doesn't play on the computer just Xbox 360.
