Rep Spread Suggestion

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

There's no problem with you disagreeing with things. But I've only ever seen you disagree with things that you don't think you'd get, or if anyone has something and you don't you disagree over it being there. I do not mind if there's things that is earnable, like the green-colored name ad thingy, because everyone can earn it if they worked hard for it. Rep is quite different... Someone could have 10,000 post, and have less than 100 rep points (only one green bar). You know the purple skull icon you have? Didn't Osay saiid we'll get something like that to be buyable in Item shop? I yet have to see that happen, and still am waiting patiently for it.

Anyway... we're going off-topic for few posts now, so if needed, we can take this to PMs, and leave the thread alone. I understand how you feel though, Ithiliel.

I for one think her post is completely reasonable and if you're going to ask her to chill I suggest you do the same.
Rep can be earned too, anyway. I've earned some myself, which kind of surprises me, but also makes me go, hey, neat! I'm going to be blunt and say that if you don't have it it's probably for a reason: generally, people don't like/disagree with what you say, as is the case now.

I want a purple skull icon too, but I'm not going to bring it into every thread I can. If it really bothers you, take it up with Osay.

I'm not bashing you nor do I need to chill. I was being reasonable with how I was talking to you. Considering this discussion, because this is what it is between us and not "bashing", has to deal with the issue at hand we're not going off topic. Rep is just as easy to earn as the No-Ads thing, you just have to EARN it. Obviously if someone has 10k posts and only one rep bar, the community isn't finding what they are posting to be helpful or funny.

In my opinion, if you're not earning the rep you feel you deserve, then you're doing something wrong. It's not a case of "LOL I'M REPPING YOU CAUSE YOU'RE MY FRIEND HURR DURR FAVORITISM" like you seem to be claiming. A lot of my reps have come from advice I've given, my opinions on subjects or what I've said has made someone laugh.

You tell me to "chill" when I state my opinion nicely and without insult, and yet I have yet to see you "chill" on the purple skull or the rep system. So, like Adelynn said, if you have that much of a problem with the purple skull bring it up with Osay instead of unnecessarily bringing it up in irrelevant threads.

That being said: Rep is easy to earn, this system that TA suggested would just cut out the bs reps and go straight to the people that actually EARNED said person's rep in the first place.

As in, some members spread it around often by themselves without having the motive to reset the ability to +rep to the same member - then if they do +rep them again, then the 3-day timer would reset along with the ~5 Reputations spread around.

Would that be possible, if Osay did implement this :what:

The current system is too easily to circumvent. Just find a bunch of 1 post accounts on members list and rep them.

You can now rep whoever you want infinitely.

Rep doesn't need to be changed, every system will have it's flaws, you just gotta hope people don't abuse those flaws.

And have you stopped to think that yes, he is jealous and/or just butthurt in general? It's pretty easy to see such if you actually read his posts.
They aren't bashing him, he's just being a brat about it. Like a kid who didn't get as many toys as the other children.

There's nothing wrong with changing the system to the suggested way.

Yeah I have stopped to think that, I just don't think he is.

I never said anything was wrong with changing the system, if the community thinks the system really does need to change then I'm all for it, I just hope it works out and the Nation is better for it.
