May end up not being properly used like the gender icon. So, I vote no.
we only have like a handful of people who do that and the people who do I think everyone already knows their gender
Doesn't matter. It still won't be used correctly and it may not help at all. Even if only a handful of people do it, it makes me wonder how many other people do it. The entire point of the gender icons was so we could say she, he, etc. It's all in the gender icon thread. I have no idea why the transgender icons were put in since we were trying to avoid not knowing what to call someone.
This will most likely not be used properly. People will lie and joke around with it. Really a pointless add in IMO.
I find it a little pointless, since we never really need age to refer to anyone.
We used the gender/sex things to see if the person was a "he" or a "she," since it sometimes became confusing. Knowing someone's age would be okay, but I find no use in sharing that information or even knowing it.
We might as well get rid of the location thing then
because there's a ton of other's who don't use that properly either

and since pets are a no-go anymore I don't really see what harm it could do

You're right. It has helped people. But I mainly stress the transgender icons. It doesn't help at all. I go through the thread asking for the icons and see people saying that it would be nice to know if someone wanted to be recognized as a male or female, and then we get transgender icons. Once again, doesn't fit the purpose of the icons.
I'm not against that then, if it's optional.
