Golems are pretty good in early boats but they become as tough as flimsy paper in any raid boss. Is it just me or should golems get a revamp. Make it so other players can walk through them and increase their hp drastically so they can actually survive more than a few hits from a raid boss.
As far as I see right now, golem takes too much effort to build up for the amount of "bang" they deliver.

if golems get buffed to the level where they can actually take more than a couple of hits from raid bosses, they would be pretty op for normal bosses wouldn't they?

Yes.
Lets buff the op character, surely that shall balance.

It does need a buff, I would say until it can tank a boss from the Sewers then it's be good enough. Since Mana Pistol is okay and all it's not great for holding aggro unlike the Golem, kinda miss using my Golem. .

It doesn't need a buff, what i needs is further level cap. We are stuck using rank A golem and golem mastry when higher level calls for rank 9 to 6.

Yeah, this I agree with. The cap is pretty low for the point of the game we're in.

They're still useful for taking hits. A max Golem can withstand 2 sets of Colru storms!

I wonder if we'll ever actually have a r1 skill.

unless they make player attacks go though the golem, people are not going to use it that much....

I think it's fine as it is. It's wonderful for attracting attention. If it stayed alive too long we'd have a bit of a problem. Imagine 5-8 Evies running around with golems. The boss would never get to move before it died. Even as it is if you have even one in say, Ingkara, for example, the fight becomes drastically easier.
At the end of the day I don't believe Vindictus is the kind of game where you're supposed to be sitting back blasting away while something tanks for you. It's an action oriented game based on dodging and getting slashes in. And I'm saying this being a person who mains staff Evie. If it was much better than it is already it would stop feeling like Vindictus. Raids are supposed to have you "on edge" the whole time so long as you're in the appropriate level range. You know how Lionotus makes you feel? Yeah, that's how you're supposed to feel whenever you do a raid.

On the topic of Lionotus, most Fionas are relegated to being living bait in it. It's always "Get to the edge and lure" for half a hour. Same applies to Titan (Get Titan to the center) and Colru (green room, sit and block while a Staff Evie does damage).
Staff Evie already overlaps multiple aspects of other characters (which is why a lot of people complain about her being overpowered). Her damage is high enough to be the primary DPS class, her party support is unmatched (by a large margin), and she has decent aggro management tools (Mana pistol, Amber panic button). Buffing golem would make her much better at being able to manage aggro (need to get Lionotus to the edge? Put your golem there), and make her be able to take the role of literally every single character in the game.
The main problem people have with Evie is that she over centralizes roles (2nd/3rd in DPS, healing, reviving, mana pistol aggro, fairly survivable when in a party). Golem buffs would make her even more centralized, effectively having a meatshield, which is one of the two reasons people even want Fionas now (the other being Hammer DPS).

She does have a meatshield. but ur right, seeing how Lanns are kicked left and right I doubt Evie should be this versatile even though I am a Evie player myself (Scythe not staff, so I am better :P)

Evie does not have a meatshield. If she gets stuck in a corner and the boss doesn't let up after an attack or two, she's dead. This is not the case for Fiona, who can pretty much sit around shielded all day so long as she bothers to recover stamina between attacks. Yes, Evie can technically do something "similar", but because Mana Amber costs so much stamina to use it really doesn't work long. You might get it to work for two or three attacks and then you're all out of stamina and cornered, assuming you got trapped in a corner with full stamina to begin with.

TLCBonaparte wrote on 2011-11-09 13:53
I think she got a meatshield not she's invincible lol. By that I meant her Golem. No one is expecting Evie to tank, it's her abilities that acts like tank or dps or support.

Yeah, her golem can definitely tank in some situations, but there are so many where a golem isn't viable. Many hard raids won't even allow you to create a golem in the first place because there simply aren't enough objects around. On easier battles they're nice, though.
