Quote from TLCBonaparte;665472:
I see the reason behind that argument, but it's still very hypocrytical for US government to impose such harsh punishment for possession of other drugs. And frankly I don't see why legalize drugs (I don't do drug, alcohol, or cigarette, I just want to make a logic point) would do great damage to US as a whole. Tobacco business has been bringing money into US treasury for years and people who do these kind of things pretty much only harm themselves. If drugs only harm individual, it's in individual's rights to do whatever he/she wants with his/her body. US government is actually violating basic human rights by imposing criminal law onto citizens.
But you see, that's what the problem is.
We shouldn't be in control with our bodies
let's take suicide as an example
are you against suicide?
"Well it's our body I should be able to do what I want with it"
A lot of people disagree with that statement
why? Because life is already short enough, and why should they let you die when you could have your whole life ahead of you?
That's why every time I turn on the TV I see commercials giving reasons why you should quit smoking
they can't force you to quit smoking, but they are going to try to convince you the best way possible.
It's not hypocritical because it's preventing another thing from poisoning us.
People will find ways to get it either way, but don't enable it for everyone else.
****, if we should be in control of our own bodies let's go ahead legalize every drug in existance
whether it's xanax or meth
it's their bodies right?
