Quote from Spartaaaaa;707480:
But you're just dodging the point. Would a person who thinks he's a dolphin be allowed to perform as a dolphin?
Philosophical question: If I think that I'm a dinosaur, would that mean that dinosaurs are not extinct.
Or how about this, would a man who thinks himself to be a woman be able to perform in the women's events in the Olympics?
True, I am indeed dodging a dumb question. But since you so insist I'ma have to clarify something for both of you. There is a pretty big difference inbetween "Think" and "Are". From the post you've made so far, it seem like you think those transgender people only "think" they are what they claim to be. In reality, it was already proven that Gender and sex aren't necessarily always in harmony and that your sex doesn't make your gender. It is beyond the point of thinking you are something, You are that. Even brainwave were recorded to function as those of the gender they claim to be (well those that were tested. dunno about those that weren't tested)
As for the dolphin question. If you can modify your body enough to the point people will think you are a dolphin, I don't really see the harm.
For dino... dinosaurs were quite probably not self-aware, so you are kinda disproving your claim by saying you think you are a dinosaur...
Anyway, as for the Olympic question. Even a fully biological woman isn't alowed to participate in the Olympic if she take hormones that could develop her muscle more than they normaly should be for a female. Male to female will still retain some of their past strengh they had from purberty which is considered cheating. But. It seem if the person took hormonal treatment when a kid and never had a male purberty, they are alowed to participate in the Olympic in the female events..
