I'm trying to build a custom computer since I've given up on getting a laptop for gaming at the moment (first computer, then laptop and finally the world!)
I'm not sure about a couple of things.
1. The Power Supply - I know nothing about these things and I'm not sure if it'll fit the case
2. The Case - I'm not sure it'll fit the motherboard correctly
3.The Processor and Motherboard - I like AMD but I'm not sure it's the best bang of the buck so if you can recommend me a better Processor and Motherboard that'll be great (but make sure it can handle 16gb
Also I'm trying to cut costs here so I can get a monitor.
I'm okay with removing the hard drive since I already have a 500GB laptop one
And I'm okay going with 6-8 GB for the meanwhile
So is this a good build?
The Case
The Motherboard
The Processor
The Ram
The Graphics Card
The Power Supply (Not sure if it'll work with the Motherboard and Case)
try to upgrade your processor to a phenom x4

If you want to cut costs, 16 gigs of ran is pretty much overkill, I went with 4 and I'm fine. Instead you should spend that money in a nice processor. Also that graphics card might be a little much if you're just gaming. Those are intended for multimedia enthusiasts who go dual monitor and edit video and stuff like that. As for the case, just check the description to see if it works with micro atx and that should fit. The 650 psu should definitely be enough unless you're thinking of doing some extra cooling but you shouldn't need that. Also just keep double checking to see if all of your parts are compatible with each other, that's the biggest of your concerns.
Btw you'll need an operating system, win 7 is about 100 bucks. Unless you're an xp fan like one of my friends.

the thing is
when it comes to price to performance ratio
Intel's i5-2500k blew away everything AMD has in the CPU market
it's extremely onesided now towards Intel which is disappointing since it means there's no reason for them to drop the price
Phenom is considered weak nowadays
spend more money for a X4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103995&Tpk=960t
and all that RAM is not needed
if you need to save money, cutting RAM is the easiest
cut down to 8GB or 4GB depending on your taste

I got windows 7 covered and as for the parts they´re all compatible but I´'m not so sure on the power supply.

Okay then but I'll have to buy a new motherboard right?

Ugh, I can't go that far without a good graphics card D:
Will the price drop really low?

Oh, I mean I still don't know if I should buy it now or not.
I mean I'm okay with my current laptop since I've been playing low-spec games recently but I want that power so badly Dx

well, the second fastest graphics card is 300$ atm, you can probably find a really good one for cheap after 7000 series comes out

7000 series already came out, but it's priced at a premium. :P

Hmm I guess I'll wait then.
Waiting to have the world's second fastest graphics card doesn't sound too bad.

Well the 7970 is pretty much finalised but won't actually be released till about Jan 9th. It's also only the 7970 so the rest of the 7000 series is still a bit off.
The PSU is way overspecced, you should be able to get something for $45 or thereabouts that should suit your needs. RAM is also way overspecced, there's too much and it's high speed. Unless you like to multitask or have a few big programs running at once even 4GB should be enough (I for example like to run Mabi, Dragon Nest, two browsers with 20+ tabs each and other programs all at once, I'm still okay at 4GB though I could do with more) and there's no point in buying RAM specced at 1866MHz over the lower speeds like 13xx/16xx. Buying more suitable hardware can save you a lot there (even 16xx RAM goes for around US$40 for a pair of 4GB sticks) and I'd recommend the i3-2100 or one of the 900 series Phenoms.
One thing you could do, is get a Sandybridge CPU and stick with the onboard graphics until the new 7000 series pans out a bit more. The HD 2000 graphics aren't terrible and the new product releases could change the market in your favour.
For now though, let's start from the beginning again :p

Thanks for the support but for some reason 4GB didn't work out so well for me.
I mean it fast 85% of the time but that's it. Maybe I should stick with just 8GB.
Oh and I just got 16GB of ram because truth be told I want to go get as close as possible to an Osay super computer.
And by PSU I think you mean Power Supply right? Yeah, I have no idea about those I just picked one that I thought that looked nice and reliable.
I'll def. start again but when I want to buy the computer in spring like the cat says. [:
Thanks for the help

If you wanna get closer to having a better comp then you'll want a better CPU and GPU :p
Besides which, Osay's comp isn't as super as everyone makes out :p
