Hey guys, so... I did state my view on here because it was a conversation, but now this thread does look like its starting to turn into a battle.
It did start as an interesting conversation and discussion, and an honest one at that. But now, after nine pages of "He said, she said, they didn't say," its turned to more of a trolling and flame war. Take a moment, step back, and look at the other's objective viewpoint. There is a reason for everybody's opinion and view, some more extreme than others, and at this point I think its best to simply agree to disagree before any rivalries or grudges are heightened from this thread.
Most people in this thread have made valid points and arguments for their concerns. Inevitably, however, the staff have the final say in the matter of the usage and implementation of Global Ignore. In joining the site, you agree to the rules and guidelines in addition to the express judgments of the forum Moderators, Super Moderators, and Administrators. They choose the rules, they run the forum. While the right for any of us to disagree with some (or all) of the rules does remain with us, in agreeing to your registration, you essentially are saying you'll put up with them.
If you don't like the forum staff, the forum rules, or anything else about the website, you're free at any time to leave the community and join another, or to create your own if you so please. You can remain in contact with whomever you like through Skype, IM, or even private messages on here if you so please. There is nobody forcing anybody to stay here.
(Tl;dr) This being said, I want to emphasize the fact of this message isn't being that any person should leave the community. Agree to disagree on a topic that is only inciting rage and argument. The decision was made by those who people agreed to listen to and respect in their registration and acceptance of the rules of the forum. If at any time you feel the rules or decisions are violating you, you may leave.
(Tl;dr's Tl;dr:) You have a right to dislike things; in joining the forum, you agree to waive it. (... If I worded this right, that is...)
