Lann isn't bad in a full Thor party if Thor spends a lot of time staying still
His turn animation doesn't span his entire body like Irukul, and good luck missing gliding fury on that guy because you'd have to try pretty hard
As far as getting attacks in, with Spears I'd rather have Thor than Titan or Glas
Might be just me, but it seems Lanns really shine on small parties. By small I mean like 4-man raids.
Well, boss patterns are a LOT more predictable when the boss isn't spinning around all the time due to constantly changing aggro. One of the things that gets me hit is due to thinking a boss is attacking someone else, only for it to do a full 180 and hit me.
That and less people means less lag, which means less of the lag that throws off Lanns moreso than any other class.
This is why I play Karok.
People have said it before, now it's my turn. Lann has good DPS.. On paper. His dodging abilities can barely make it out of some of the later bosses. And by later bosses I even mean bosses like Irukul. Seriously, **** him. And with the fact that his invincibility frames are so low, (And that a lot of Lanns are ****heads, that don't even have much skill at all and only chose him because he's sexy) most Lanns are shunned. He can't achieve all THAT much defense because if he wants to do anything he has to upgrade other skills, not revolving around defense. Though I do know a tank Lann who maxed Defense Mastery, which in my opinion is almost vital to playing a Lann. So sure his DPS CAN be very high, it's highly unlikely because he dies so much.
Good Lanns are amazing in battle, while bad Lanns are ****ing terrible.
Lann is my only choice until kai.
--> I do not play as girls on the internet
--> I don't want to be a hulking giant man.
Lann's dodging abilities are very lacking, they need to make slip dash more like what karok can do, so lann can go TRHOUGH the attack frame, instead of being carried with it.
Its extreemley hard to get Lann to have over 14k attack, he relies way too much on crit, and for his surviavability, that sucks. I mean, to have a CHANCE to do as much damage as another class before your limited survivability runs out.
He really needs a revamp imo.
I was thinking it'd be cool if instead of adding a period where you are invulnerable during the roll, they should add something similar to karok's shock absorb in that when it activates, instead of taking damage, fury infusion should activate, with appropriate hp deduction. That way spears have some method of avoiding attacks that doesn't require raidhunter level mastery of spacing, but are still at a survivability disadvantage to other classes due to being guaranteed some form of hp damage when being attacked ( from the fury deduction or from missing the activation and being hit). It would also go with the traditional spear tradeoff of damage vs survival, as a good player will be able to use a full stam bar, dodge and activate fury to regain all stamina and keep attacking, at the trade off of being at 1hp constantly or just closer to death in general.Mastering spacing would also be viable tactic in that it would keep the lann alive without reducing hp, being a more defensive style of play. Of course, the hp cost of a dodgeroll fury would have to be tweaked a bit so as to be balanced (2-3 times normal?).
This was a post on the Vindictus Wiki about how people would change Lanns, so I thought that you guys might be interested. :)
Right now, Lann is pay2win, or pay2getaccepted. If you don't have 12k-13k attack, booted. If you don't have 5.5k defense, booted. Not enough crit, attack speed? Booted. A revamp would be nice, but there aren't much abilities to give him other than a direct boost in his attack and defense, I can survive just fine with the invincibility frames I'm given now.
People judge Fionas and Karoks just as harshly on both points. But you'd think that both of them would have easier times surviving, but there are a ton of Fionas who just can't dodge unblockables and a ton of Karoks who don't know how to time Absorb Shock.
