'Anonymous' hackers claim to take down Justice Department, Universal Music websites

  Popular file-sharing website megaupload.com gets shutdown by U.S Justice - FBI and charged its founder with violating piracy laws. Four Megaupload members were also arrested. The FBI released a press release on its website which you can view here:

  Edit: Hiccup, you know how Beiber became a star through youtube, if this act was in effect 2 years ago, he would be non existent, because he used youtube, to show himself singing a song that was produced by another artist that is owned by a corporation.

  I hope they have valid charges on the Megaupload guys, though. 'cause if it's just about their site hosting illegal stuff, it should be protected by DMCA, with which it is in compliance. We'll see, I guess.

  The problem is that they're going to abuse all the power they have and even some of the power they don't have with SOPA. If they did this without it, do you really believe that SOPA will be in any way beneficial? They just took down a legal site completely and arrested the people running it without SOPA because it hosted illegal user submitted content. So does Youtube, and Mabination, and basically every single site on the internet that is reasonable in size and allows any sort of user interaction at all.
  
  And no, they won't use it reasonably. If they've already done this without much power, what are they gonna do with more power? They have a history of abusing all the power they have and even stretching it to abuse some of it they don't have. By the time they admit they broke their rules, so many years have passed (often decades) that nothing can be done about it anymore.
