My faith in humanity ... It's just ... Wow. :fail3:
I dare you guys to mention this whole genocide talk in front of any human being and see how they react - I understand the the internet gives a sense of anonymity but ... I'm just speechless.
I'm all for protecting the Amazon, but this is no different than any other recorded genocide.
Haven't you guys learned anything from History?
And yes, I am partially letting my emotions drive my stance. Because I'm human.
If the world ends due to the Amazon dying, so be it. Wiping out humans near the Amazon would be a temporary solution at best. Human beings will just repopulate again ... Then we're back to square one.

Hence relocate and/or kill then develop methods to prevent history from repeating itself in that department.
And to compare this to what Hitler did? Yeah.. they're completely different things. He did it because he hated Jews and wanted to make the Aryan race the main/superior race. We're proposing this to save the entire earth. Please elaborate as to how those are similar?

I didn't know the poor people in Brazil were responsible for the obscenely oversized logging industry.
What's that about markets I hear? Demand? Supply?
If we should "kill off" anyone, it would have to be the customers, i.e. us. Or perhaps stage a coup in Brazil to install a military regime that hates economical progress and outlaws everything that goes beyond a "I plant my seeds, I feed my pigs" lifestyle, like in Cambodia, at least if you want to be a worthless, egomaniacal piece of ****.

Hitler? Who said anything about Hitler? I'm just talking about genocide in general.
And Hitler's only target wasn't the Jews ... he had his list of inferior people. To deal with them, he implemented the whole "final plan/solution" thingy, which is eerily similar to what you guys are saying.

You yourself said that you would not sacrifice yourself to "save the planet", so what right do you have to advocate the mass murder of other people?

just take my simple solution and end all this genocide talks.
It really tells me a lot that you people would go for genocide/relocation without thinking much about other obvious solutions.
It's like you all just want an excuse to have a genocide.
So damn ironic how you people treat sensible people like morons. In the eye of the beholder, you guys would look like westboro baptists and sparta would be like David Silverman.
Quote from abc33kr;747723:
plant ****load of manchineel trees around amazon rainforest.
problem solved.
no mass genocide required.
no money required to send troops to protect amazon.
brilliant idea?

Besides common sense?
If saving the entire world isn't just enough (especially when I clearly stated this was a last resort option, only to be used if there was no other way to relocate the majority/they refused, and that I would request it be done as humanely as possible), then I won't bother trying to convince you guys otherwise. Not until you get over your holier-than-thou ideals and hero complexes, anyhow.
I just hope that if it comes down to it, we have some fairly smart people who actually feel like saving all the other innocent people in the world and are not distracted by silly morality that isn't even involved in such a huge decision. (though, if it was, then morality would still be saving more people, not just a couple million, no?)

Yes, but the fact that you yourself would be unwilling to die shows that you really have no moral high ground. Whether it's Americans who die (and the people living near the Amazon move to the US), or the people living near the Amazon, the overall result is the same. How you still don't get that is beyond me.
Who's the one with the holier-than-thou complex? The one who plays God and decides who lives and who dies, or the one who opposes genocide in favor of other more common sense methods (see abc33kr's post about manchineel trees and my posts about privatization of rainforests).

Who in their might mind would want to willingly die for such a cause, though? I sure can't think of anyone.
I really wish you would learn to read properly, then you might notice how many times I've stated I only support it if it is the last possible option available.
I'm not too sure why I'm surprised, though. As common sense is a rarity in this thread.

Which means that the solution is to
forcibly kill
other people right?

I'm still waiting for your thoughts on manchineel trees and rainforest privatization.

Like I said, if there are other options that will work, then by all means. Just because I'm content with them being killed in a worse case scenario doesn't mean I support it if it's completely unnecessary due to other options.

The solution you people are promoting is same as amputating the fingers of a person who got a paper cut.
Sure saving a rainforest is much more serious than a paper cut, but that ridiculous comparison had to be made since you people had a ridiculous solution.
a bit too late to notice, but I think TA is laughing her ass off for trolling sparta and other sensible nationers.

Hey everyone, turns out cynic has a rare, deadly disease. Every second he lives 10,000 people die around the world.
We should like, totally get his head on a plate, for the greater good ya know. What's 1 life next to 1238787324780234 billion, right?
