I would like to believe that every religion's God is really the same God, but people have different ideas of him.
What about the Greek and Romans? With their many gods and goddesses

What about the Greek and Romans?
The Christian and jewish god is depicted to be similar to Zeus or Jupiter from the Greek/Roman gods.
Zeus/Jupiter was a male and the king of the gods, supreme in authority and the eldest of all the gods.
I don't know what thread you are talking about ... I've said many things lol.
Eraparx, the issue with that mentality is that people can still do "good" things without being good themselves. A Christian recognizes that doing good things isn't enough to get you into heaven. As such, that's where Jesus Christ come in ... this isn't some exclusive club either - this is a personal decision that anyone can make. I don't see that in most other religions/belief systems.
Considering Christianity/Judaism is monotheistic ... and Judaism is the one of the oldest monotheistic belief systems (around 3000 B.C), comparing them to Greeks/Roman gods is a bit ... yeah.
What makes a good person without their deeds? o.o A good person who does bad things is a silly idea since by then he is not really a "good" person. Though if religion didnt call "god" all good this would make sense without explaining but a all loving god seems silly if theres even a hell that he isnt actively trying to stop people from going to. correct me if im wrong but when is last "miracle" to be recorded?
Well random add-on to moral is aethist do good deeds without fear of hell. Christians have hell in back of their minds always no?
Suffer? I'm not suffering :p I'm enjoying life to the fullest (short of doing anything illegal or bad).
And paradise won't be filled with horrible people. God won't allow such types of people to inhabit heaven.
Forgiveness is a gift. You can't earn forgiveness, you ask for it. Think about it, it's the same in real life.
Also, if someone gave you a present, would you automatically try and give them something back?
If that were the case, they never truly accepted God, and they have mistaken what God's word is by a long shot.

The suffering part refered to hell. What I ment to say is that Neiter hell or Heaven sounds like place I want to go. And both place are the only choice the christian God give you..
I get gift even without asking for them, I even had to ask some family member to stop giving me gift, it was becoming pointless.. Some people give gift to those who showed effort and such, in other words, Gift they earned by working hard. I still remember how hard to tried to win a baseball match when I was a little kid while my parents were watching. Seeing how hard I tried back then, they gave me a pet bird, I so loved that birdy.
Anyway, to that question of yours, no I don't feel the requirement to give something else to people who give me stuff. At the same time I don't require people to give me something when I give them a gift. Their good nature is usualy enough for me to choose to give them a gift. I just feel like "they earned it" People who betrayed my trust, I need an honest proof they regret what they did and will try to get better. If they can show me that (which isn't really hard) I feel like they earned forgiving.
I guess the value of "earning" something is subjective, there is probably people who the value is close to even equal to 0, meaning gift is random and meaningless.
So the christian God will blame those people for a misunderstanding on his end?
Those people are willing to accept "god" but were unable to understand what he ment, so even if they ask for forgiveness, they will not get it?
Not really ideas but Definitions themselves change to the point they contradict each others in some points. Those contradictions make it impossible for all those definition to mean the same being. In other words, Some of those religion workship a fake existance since what they workship doesn't really exist. They workship a "misunderstanding" or the possible "real" god. Well that is if there is a real godly being to begin with. All religion with godly beings as their center might be wrong, just one possibility. Of course I don't support that theory since I have my own belief of a godly being, but that belief contradict the Christian god(and a few others) and it's setting. The root is similar through. So there is 4 possibility from our point of view, the Christian god exist, The Angelium God Exist, another form of Godly being exist or none exist.
This is my depiction of him:

Instead of arguing with that, because you make some good points, I just want to put this out there.
What am I losing by believing in God? Nothing.
I like to believe my dead friends and family aren't gone forever, that one day, I'll see them again one day.
The permanent physical and emotional pain I go through daily, will one day be gone, and I will feel perfect.
What if no God exists? Well then that doesn't matter then, does it?
Because I won't be alive to be disappointed by it.
It will keep me going while I'm alive, give me hope, give me happiness and strength to carry on.
The thing your losing is your connection with god , and your ableness of going to heaven (if you cant go to heaven theres another options.) spirtally everyone you know still thats dead are still around (not like ghost..). Also no one is perfect look at the devil he wanted to be perfect and higher then god (thing im saying being perfect is not self opion so its pointless.) if god doesnt exist wouldnt hurt just to be on the safe side right? Wouldnt matter if you really disspointed at the end
