The problem isn't with the tip. If you and TA are missing that, you should really work on your people skills.
Excuse me? :l
How do I
owe someone extra money just because I'm supposed to feel bad for their crappy position? That's ridiculous. I worked for my money too and by demanding I give a tip on top of the money I already owe for the bill,
you're being unfair to
me. I find it absolutely insane that anyone would expect such a thing. Should I start giving tips to cashiers for doing their job? Should I start giving tips to firemen for doing their jobs? Being a fireman is a far more important job, so I think I should.
If you work as a waiter and have shitty pay, bother the one who's actually responsible for it, your employer, instead of trying to leech off of randoms to compensate for internal issues with the way the business works. I find it somewhat offensive that someone could
expect I give them extra money just because they're oh so wonderful, wrote a few things down, and carried some food out to me, just like they were already being paid (albeit, poorly) to do. If it's such an issue that it requires
extra money to do it when I'm already paying the restaurant to do it, I'll just write down what I want and carry the food back to my table myself. Oh, but I guess I should be thankful that they didn't spit on my food or treat me like an asshole when I was trying to be nice to them. I should be happy that they actually did the job they were employed to do without going out of their way to mess up my day.
If you're talking about the fact that the guy left a snobby note, that's another problem altogether and neither of us were talking about that. Of course he shouldn't have been a jerk. I didn't post anything about it because it's common sense and people already mentioned it.
