Well in general tf is a hard to master champion, being hard counterpicked and against a diamond player is a fairly valid excuse for feeding your ass off if you're not good with a champion

TF is a champion that I'd consider the most representative of your map awareness and positioning. In general, you see this pick in higher elo more often simply because people actually get more map awareness and get better positioning. I usually play assassins in mid lane, but when I don't get that, TF is usually one of my go-to. I'll admit, it's pretty hard to master him. The mechanics isn't the hard part, but knowing when to go in, ult in and zhonyas, etc, that's what really makes this champ hard to play.

I've gotten into playing Quinn mid recently. I love Quinn, and she's my second most played champion, almost exclusively on top lane. But I thought, why not give her a try in mid lane since I love to play roaming mids? Result was great, showcased by three good games I had today, although I probably played around 14 Quinn mid games last week, winning 12 of them.

This is high plat elo (I get matched up with 2.1~2.3k elo players). Notice how I don't build Quinn as an adc. I try to centralize my build on the bird form, so that I can pick out enemy carries, do good damage, and still stay long enough in fights. In the games shown, I get merc treads because they're awesome on Quinn, but often, I get Ionian's instead as well. Berserker's greaves I wouldn't get simply due to the fact that I don't build her as an adc.

Also, am I the only one who builds randuin's on Akali? I don't build it all the time, but I do build it when I think it's useful. The enemy team's Sivir and Lee Sin were fed in the other team, so I figured I would build it, and one of my teammates considered it a weird choice, although they didn't really criticize it.
I feel like it's a great item on Akali, but not really a "core" item.

So many people told me that I should try mid (I normally jungle) and everyone I thought I should try to play was a pretty big "no" from them, leading to them suggesting to play TF because he's one of the simpler ones (I guess?). I don't know what their reasoning was, really. All I know is that he's a huge nope for my play style and I now have respect for TF players. QAQ; I also read that he doesn't exactly win lane in most cases? I wish I would have known that before hand xD Maybe I wouldn't have lost hope so fast or said sorry as many times as I did that match (not really an excuse for doing that badly but maybe better morale from me might have lead to a different sort of game).

@Ironwoman: I could see reasoning to build omen but I never personally would have thought of that. Quinn in any lane is devistating though, no? Other than bot, right? XD *noob, no idea* :D *insert more nooby assumptions*

Yup, his laning phase is pretty infamous. There are only few match ups he's good against, like Karthus, Ryze, Katarina, etc. but you're still not expected to win over some of them 1v1 after 6 (good example is Ryze). Land your stun card at the wrong time and you're dead. So TF isn't really a "simple" champion, in fact, I'd consider him one of the most complex champions I had to learn.

As for Quinn... don't get me wrong, I love the champion, but she is shit-tier in bot lane right now, where she's an extremely situational pick, and even so, they'll probably outscale you in team fights. Even for top Quinn, it's a situational pick, as you'd want a tankier jungle and support, even though I still build items like Randuin's and Banshee's often on her. In fact, I'll build both items more often than not, and go less defensive build when I'm mid Quinn and focus on bursting people.

As a side note, what did people get from the mysterious gift that rito gave us?

Hey, it could have been much worse. At least you didn't get like a clover Malphite or Riot Tristana!
As for me, I got Silverfang Akali, and considering that the only skins I own were the Victorious skins and Rugged Garen skin that I got from troll mysterious gift from a friend and I don't even play Garen because he's a shitty champ, I was pretty content with what I got.

About fucking time they removed that item, it single handedly got more than a few champions nerfed to the point if they didn't buy dfg they were beyond crippled and it turned good healthy burst patterns into over the top instagib every 90 seconds.

Doesnt change the problem that she cant freeze lane which can be pretty important. That bomb scales extremely well on PBE right now (1.1 AD ratio at max rank) and is better than her current E. They did destroy her AS/lv to compensate so I think her early game DPS is going to be about the same and lategame she'll still be a 700 range adc with a HUGE steroid. The new E will give her a much better midgame though. It looks like a great skirmishing skill like Zilean Q. I think she'll still be a bit underwhelming midgame compared to every other adc so she hasnt really change all that much.

The E apply on-hit buff is pretty big, they'll buff her more if she needs it.

The E apply on-hit buff is big? Sure, it adds one more hit of effects here and there, but that's big? If that's so, then she needs something huge. Maybe a coherent kit. Making her intentionally weak in the past was painful, but she was still fun to play. What they're doing right now makes her feel pretty awful in any role other than bruiser...where she's well behind her competition.
