Quote from Claudia;798774:
I dunno, i'm pretty skeptical because I had issues with a staff member, as did many others, and when we got together to discuss, it seems our issues were completely ignored.
I mean, now it feels awkward that a ton of my friends that I used to talk about this stuff with are now moderators, but i'll get over that.
Overall, with a ton of my friends leaving due to this I feel like a huge part of the community has been broken up now. I feel like I can't even joke in Bean Rua now without getting an infraction. I can understand the reasoning behind everything but so far I don't like the application of it.
I can't even think of a witty way to say that I agree with every word here, Claudia, but I especially agree with the third paragraph of this particular post.
I'm mindful of the state of affairs that led up to this moment, and so I'm going to proceed relaxedly and just let things play out.
I'm optimistic for how things will occur, but I'm not entirely ready to embrace the new positions.

Indeed. Optimism is probably the best course right now. I sincerely believe things are going to get better, though.

I think the biggest problem is that some things are a bit unclear. There are some pretty terrible misunderstandings that are going to have to be cleared up.
Rest assured, we hear your concerns and we do take them to heart. Hopefully later today we can clear up much of these misunderstandings and move forward.

I'm glad that TA is admin now, maybe Nation will be restored to it's original stage with not a lot of rudeness. Though I don't agree with some of the mod changes.

From what I've heard TA is here to train us and not much more. I could be mistaken though.

You guys are sad. If you can't handle the fact that you're not allowed to get pissy at every single person you don't like, then leave Mabination.

My responsibilities are as follows:
1) To handle the recruiting of mod staff, the firing, and replacement of mod staff.
2) To be the primary contact for problems or questions regarding mod staff.
3) To make sure the mod staff knows what their job is, and that they do it properly. In other words, to train them.
4) To be there to support the mod staff should they have any technical issues (e.g. don't know how to ban someone for example).
5) Help the admin team (Osay and Juno now) with changes to the rules.

Was going to say something, but it wouldn't be polite.
New beginnings. New beginnings. Let it go.

No, I was going to say something worse, but tried to think of a way to make it nicer and realized that wasn't going to work.
TO NEW BEGINNINGS AND SELF-CONTROL!

Guys, please try not to take a passive-aggressive tone like that. If that wasn't your intention, I apologize in advance, but the way some things have been said aren't helping you get your points across.
That being said, people can dislike who they want as long as they don't insult or undermine that person. If you guys have problems, feel free to make a discussion thread about said problem in Mabination Discussion. We'll take a look as quickly as we can.

Good to keep this in mind. Remember, if you feel like you weren't heard before: we are for the most part new staff members. Things are very likely to go differently.
Edit: Some clean-up, rephrasing. Don't mind me.

You stopped me from saying something too.
Honestly I don't understand why these rules were put into place in the first place.
The old nation rules were just fine.
Sure there were the occasional trolls/ people who said things with the intensions of bashing & insulting others but I felt like the staff was doing its best to keep the community in check.
They gave warnings to those who didn't really understand certain rules & broke up arguments that accured in threads from time to time.
I don't understand were this current obsession of censorship & stricter policies & rules came from.
I too am starting to feel like I can't even make people laugh and enjoy themselves anywhere out of bean rua.
And now Im afraid to even post a harmless joke at another nationer because It seems to me like nation is becoming more strict with what we can & cannot say.
Seems like its more for infractions & less warning. No matter what the case is.

1.) This type of behaviour is never acceptable.
2.) Most of the previous staff were either too busy or inactive to sort through all the problems, that left really only TA to pick up the slack.
3.) Stricter policies came about do to the rampant trolling/flaming behaviour which is again unacceptable. You can post all the jokes you want as long as they're not spam or insulting at all.
Have a great day!

For the most part, these rules have been the same as they were a while ago, but now with some clarification.
The rules have essentially been the same. The difference is that now they're going to be enforced more. Unfortunately, being lax has proven that things can get blown out of proportion quite quickly, and people start to think that it's simply the way things are supposed to be. No, just because one was allowed to break the rules, doesn't mean they should have been. We're trying to get things back to where it isn't such a headache for the staff. For now, that means being a bit more strict about enforcing the rules. This doesn't mean we're going to go all iron fist on you guys. We've been talking about this, as well.
The not questioning moderators was badly worded. Essentially what it means is treat staff members as you would treat any other member. You can't insult or single out regular members, and you can't insult or single out staff members, either.
As for other censorship concerns, like being afraid to post certain things that may be offensive:
The words "nigger" and "faggot" are different than "fuck" in that they are derogatory terms that are meant to insult a specific group of people based on something they are. It's not that no one was offended by it before the rule was made. It's more like people are noticing it more because the rule was made. They're noticing it because now there's actually a rule stopping them (even though there technically was before, but because people didn't understand how bad these things could be, it was clarified). We want people to be able to curse, but some people just take it too far.

The new mods seem cool beans, but I'll miss the old ones too. I see some people who are better suited to be staff not becoming moderators though. sadtimes
