Major staff changes

  We might as well change the site name to Dictatornation
  
  Im sorry but with all the new censorship & new rules directed towards forceed respect at the new staff the name would be a pretty accurate description of what you are trying to turn the community into.
  
  The new staff sounds good to me but I highly dissagree with the reasoning behind why you removed some of the old ones.
  
  On another note, so we now get in trouble for for speaking our minds on certain topics & not using the report or ignore button if threads contain a topic which we strongly disagree in?

  If you see a thread in the wrong section, reporting is all you can do since you can't move it yourself. You can still respond as normal though...and don't think you'll be punished for mentioning it's in the wrong section.
  
  The goal isn't to punish as many people as possible, after all. Every rule is subject to common sense, so we won't be throwing out unreasonable infractions due to technicalities.

  Why not make it so mods & admins are the only ones able to post in threads then? Since they appearently seem to know a lot more than us and we are no longer allowed to openly disagree with other peoples views & ideals.

  Arguments are a norm & the gm's back then did a pretty good job at breaking up arguments when they were discovered.
  
  People should be punished for arguing. They should be punished for blindly insulting other nation members.

  That rule seems to be discrimination.
  
  That rule does not belong in this community if you are going to have that be a rule then you might as well make it so no one is allowed to disrespect or talk negatively about each other not just towards mods & admins.

  I was going to say something positive and crap, but after re-reading that rule a few times - I get a bad vibe from it.
  
  Recognize however, that everyone should be nice and respectful to each other. If it was a "dictatorship" then the staff would be above the law. Which of course, has never happened before - I digress.
  
  Although you have to understand why that said rule is in place.
  Apparently, people can't discuss things in a civilized manner. Therefore the staff had to take some-what drastic measures.
  
  Here's part of what TA had to say about the rule. (What I felt was relevant)

The biggest problem is that the vast majority of people get flustered and are incapable of remaining civil and instead resort to derogatories and insults, with very negative near (or fully) flame-like tones.
  
  You have to understand, staff members are members of this community as well. Just because they have special responsibilities never makes it okay to insult them.
  
  Unfortunately since most people can't seem to control themselves and think that insulting staff is A-Okay just because they're staff, we can't allow it. Doing so would only result in punishment for flaming/insulting of a member due to people's inability to make constructive civil posts on this type of subject. Then that only enrages them more, and harsher action has to take place. To simply disallow it, curbs having to punish our members for the fervent hate of any particular staff member or action (which regardless of what we say, is going to happen), so if it can be in a private message rather than openly insulting a member, and in creating an entire thread for the purpose of insulting said member, then we can avoid a bunch of senseless drama and needless punishment.[/SPOILER]
  
  Milk, I think that if you believe so strongly that this rule should be amended - I highly recommend/implore you to make a thread in "Mabination Discussion" and discuss it there. There was already one person who got part of a rule amended, perhaps you can do the same?
  
  Even if nothing happens, you might get an appropriate and further explanation from the staff.
  I'm also a bit curious, myself. Although, it personally doesn't really bother me to the point where I feel as if I have to make a statement about it.

  Believe it or not, the majority of posts on this forum do not involve arguing, trolling, flaming or insulting. In fact, some people even disagree without being complete jerks to one another. I wish I could say I understand your opposition (I don't~), but there's really nothing to worry about.
  
  As for forced respect, that's not the goal. If you have a problem with a member of the staff, PM myself or TA. Creating a thread on it is no different than creating a thread on any other member of the site.
  
  At the same time, I understand that talking about dubious moderation decisions is healthy for the community. Perhaps we can have -one- official incident thread for that purpose.

  I think there SHOULD be a thread in which they're allowed to discuss dubious moderation decisions, because honestly I've noticed a lot of times the members don't bring it up with the mods or admins for whatever reason. At this point, if we just keep removing their complaints and telling them to PM us-I don't think anything is going to be solved.
