So much I can't say, nor will I ever be able to really speak again.
PMs are entirely unregulated, as far as staff issues go. If you have a problem, I do answer mail.

Hanna's Lover
Would've loved for someone to give me a heads up before dropping the ball like this, but what's done is done, haha.
A tip for the new staff team: stand up for what's right.
That's something I always tried to do during my time as Super Mod here. Don't be afraid to butt heads with your Administrator from time to time—in fact, it doesn't even matter—just stand up for what you think is fair.
You don't know how many times Arsik and I clashed with our decisions, on issues like Byte or Brad or even Jordy (before it became out of hand). Differences within a team does not make that team weak; in fact, it makes that team even stronger and better equipped to handle different situations.
As a moderator, follow the rules, but do not follow them too strictly. The idea is that these forums are headed into a direction that called for drastic measures (i.e. a replacement of the whole staff team), right? Therefore, be that positive change that everyone so needs right now. Don't be the negative change.
It is true that you can't make everyone love you. However, you can indeed have people respect you. And you do this, not by infracting and banning left and right, but by communicating the rules clearly and by being respectful yourself.
Be creative. Go out of your way for this community. Make people laugh. And most importantly, have fun.
At the end of the day, don't become drones or police officers. Be a friend.
Best of luck.

Out of curiosity, how does a member go from self-demotion due to working a "thankless job", to being given even bigger responsibility a few days later?

This just happened overnight? I'm so fucking shocked it's crazy.
The new mods are all amazing, I'm specially glad to see Elena, Kaeporo and Ithi among them. And I don't like seeing Skye leave the staff, at all, she was a good mod and could've been better under this new... stricter rules, with some counseling at first perhaps, at least that's what I strongly believe.
But I really think you guys are overdoing it with the censorship, it isn't good, PMs aren't always the best choice, and there's the Mabination Discussion which could be used for such things, you all just have to keep it under close watch and make sure things don't go overboard.
Anyway, good luck to all of you.
edit: I know a LOT of you don't agree with TA being admin, and probably puked a little when you saw it, I'll tell you I used to HATE TA (sorry honey :p), like really bad, saw her as condescending, always trying to show how much better than you she is, and when she was added to the moderation staff back then, I cringed and considered leaving the whole thing, but I decided to just see what happens first, with time I started to understand more about her I guess, she was a good asset to the staff, she actively participated in staff discussions (which I have to say is possibly even more important than the other parts of moderation), and realized TA isn't that bad, I still see some stuff I don't like in her, but that doesn't matter and it's just my own problem (though overall I think she's swell), but really she's a good person who takes this positions seriously, and with no doubt in my mind I can say she'll do what she must, and she'll do it well.
Give her a chance to prove herself before going apeshit crazy.
