While I'm all for letting time take its course, and fair chances to everyone, with such outspoken dissent towards the new changes, why isn't there being more questioning?
  
  I never thought of an admin/moderator of a forum as just a person to do their job, I always considered them in a way a person who reflects the community. Those in power need to be respected and that respect cannot be forced upon the masses either. It leads to a lot of discrepancy throughout the community if the person leading us to make these changes for betterment isn't someone they initially respect.

  I can understand that those in power currently are all perfectly capable of handling their positions, but uniting a community through a leader without some kind of positive backing behind them, won't lead to great situations. Sure, forum problems will be handled but that close knit community you're looking for is the furthest thing from the result in this situation.
  
  I wouldn't mind all the current people in their positions of power to stay there, but I feel like we should be led by someone, perhaps another admin added onto the current, who not only gets the job done but has the respect of the community and can bring people together through positive leading.
  
  Think of someone who loves the community, would have the support of nearly everyone but can also buckle down despite whatever outside ties they have to people. Someone who listens, but also acts.
  
  I always thought of a community as a place where we can all be open with each other and support one another with respect, those values, I feel, cannot be reflected throughout the entire community if our feelings are not heard. Yet on the other side of the coin, when expressing our feelings we also need to maintain respect towards others.
  
  Sometimes we have to lose a bit of freedom and deal with things we don't like to get somewhere, I understand that, I just wish this could have been done in a more positive way that the entire community could feel supportive about. When I joined nation it was a great place, full of wonderful people, and it still is, but just because things have changed doesn't mean we can't work towards that goal.
  
  I originally felt like pming this to a moderator, but at the same time I really do feel like as a community there should be open discussion. I want to know what other people think, but I also want it to be done in a respectful manner.

  Forgive me if it sounds as if I'm merely focusing on you, because I'm not. But I couldn't help but respond since you used the same terminology/lexicon from my previous post.
  
  Well ... I honestly can't see what can be done. Sure, voice your complaints - but without anything concrete I think you won't get any far. Merely saying because a staff member has acted a certain way in the past isn't enough - well at least for me.
  
  Don't get me wrong. It's a valid concern and I share some (if not most) of your same sentiments.
  
  But that's why I said everyone should just wait. If and when something does happen, then you can report away. But, if everything works out for the better - then shucks. I can't really complain.
  I'm sure not everyone is going to be happy, but I think it's a good way of looking at things right now. Especially since the community and the situation seems to be so fragile.
  
  At it's best, I believe raising concerns about past staff member's attitudes are just another issue that is "put on the plate" - so to speak.
  At it's worst, raising concerns is an impediment - a thorn on the side. Therefore, I believe right now it will do more harm than good.
  
  These are just my personal views. I'm not sociologist/psychologist.
  I'll bring up concerns as they arise. I'm also very confident in a few of the staff and some have already expressed listening to the community's opinions. Take advantage of that, if you must. It's not like everyone's opinions are silenced. You just need to be respectful, thoughtful, and specific about it.

  Not everyone would agree on the same person. I mean, look what's happening right now!

  The community has run wild for a while now. We've had to take some immediate actions in order to curb some of the more heinous acts which have caused a number of members undo stress. None of these aforementioned major or repeated violations have been made today. Any society without adequete leadership is doomed to chaos and social unrest.
  
  We do appreciate your concern and your support. While Mabination essentially serves as an active confraternity, it's important to try to halt the impending lynch mob by handling certain things at the correct level. We have adopted as sort of chain of command and it's suggested that each member try to resolve each situation at the lowest level possible. That's always at the actual individual that you have a problem with. If you feel uncomfortable doing that you're expected to elevate the issue.
  
  The most important thing to take into consideration is also relative. There is a time and a place to make a stand. I consider it to be extremely rash to throw a fit over some new rules (breaking said rules in the process) the first day that they're put in place and before any real injustice has been seen.
  
  Notice how members have started to voice concern over other rules that have been in place for a good while. These sudden and comparatively drastic changes have seemingly opened the eyes of the community to some things that they should have known about for a while.
  
  Please have patience.

  I feel that it's because the community seems so fragile, in its situation that another person added onto the admin/staff leader section would help a lot.
  
  There's nothing worse than a community in a dejected spirit and upset. In a way it's keeping with the new changes and the loss of some freedoms but at the same time it's giving everyone a bit of a lift that we can work towards something positive. Perhaps all the current moderator and admins can do this in the long run, depending on how things go, but short term moving towards a more stable long term I think this would help peoples outlook.
  
  Sometimes what a community needs to come together is a boost from someone optimistic and hardworking.
  
  I think the majority of us can come up with a few people would be able to do the job and like you said not everyone would agree on the person, but at the same time that happens with any great leader or someone in a power position. If it's someone who is supported by the majority of the community however, change can happen through positive influence and people can be swayed to support the new changes.
  
  Patience comes easier to those who feel optimistic about the future.
  
  I wish luck to all the new staff members =D and everyone in the community. We should all be supportive of each other during the remodeling, I'm just sharing my opinion about a possible addition to the current changes.
