Out of curiosity, how does a member go from self-demotion due to working a "thankless job", to being given even bigger responsibility a few days later?
quite curious about this, too.
feels more like a dictatorship than a forum.

Any reason why posts in this thread are being censored?
Because I'm pretty sure Yoorah and Bride posted about something and now I no longer see their posts.
I came here to congratulate the new moderators and wish them the best, but I don't support blatant censoring of discussion.
Just to let you all know, we really do understand your worries about censorship. However, we all know how the community can get. If you have concerns with a particular staff member, please let another staff member or a different admin know. Unfortunately, there's always the potential that things can get messy (I'm sure some of you have seen the uglier things that have happened). Because of that, we're being extra strict and extra cautious.
The posts that were deleted were because people shouldn't single other people out and accuse them of something. That's not a discussion so much as an accusation. Things like that should really stay in the hands of the staff. Unfortunately, things have gotten out of hand before. I know that this may feel unfair, but the truth is that while some people, like you, can keep their cool during a discussion, there are others that can't; it's that sort of thing that makes this feel necessary.
If there's anyone else that has similar concerns, I'd love to know about them, but please don't single out a single person publicly. If you feel like you can't express your concern without singling that person out, I think PMs are a better route to go.
EDIT: Some new posts since I started typing that. Dear me.

Oh god. Do I feel bad for you all.
Uh. Have fun modding. Somehow. Yeah. Don't stress out too much, 'kay?

4) If you have a problem with a moderator you PM an admin, and if you have a problem with an admin you PM me, and if you have a problem with me you also PM me.
For some things, a private complaint works well. For others, it is inappropriate. This is a case about the latter.
The issue here is that the staff has already been aware of the problems between TA and many in the community. So sending a private complaint about it is pointless. By contrast, pointing it out publicly lets the community share their view about an issue that concerns them all.
On a less serious note:

Best of fortunes and patience with this community, new moderators.
Just to be clear:
TA being an admin was because she wants to better the community, not because she wants things her way (ie. dictatorship in a negative way).
Something had to be done. If it takes TA to do it, then it should.

Once again with the censoring of proper complaints. Think for yourself before you interpret a rule in the most simplistic way.
There is a valid reason for posting criticism about TA's promotion to the position of an admin in this thread.

I have a lot of things to read up on and things to keep up with, so I'll keep this brief.
There is a reason why things are the way they are, and I'm going to try and talk to other members to see how much can be said here. For now, please try to keep things as drama-free as possible. The last thing I need is to give out infractions on my first day. I really don't want to, but I'm not one to hold back just to be nice.

Aww darn, no application this time? I had one ready too...
Well good luck to all of you, I'm sure you will all do great.
I just hope the ex-staffs don't leave the website.

Most of the ex-staff were inactive anyway.

Now that I've somewhat collected myself ...
I also have to express my concerns and quite frankly, shock, when I read about the change of administration.
However, I would like to tell everyone this.
None of us knows what the future holds. Yes, it's very easy to look at the past and say that the same mistakes will be repeated again.
To be honest, I'm quite tempted to do that. However, the only reason why I'm not is because I have some faith in some (a few) of the newly assigned Moderators. (Don't let me down! :p)
If this overhaul creates a better close-nit community where everyone can share their views in a respectable and intellectual manner, then so be it.
Right now, that goal may seem to be too far off in the distance - but I believe we can't make a quick judgement as of right now.
Consider this the "Anarchy" or "Revolution" period after a new change has erupted (Civ 4 reference anyone?)
This backlash bound to happen. If you didn't expect it ... well, you might want to wake up. It's quite a logical conclusion, it's the first thing that came to my mind when I read up on all of these changes.
Therefore, for both sides of the fence, let us be patient and allow for time take it's course.
Needless to say, I'm quite intrigued by all of this.

I'm considering rebelling, so you guys better not suck. I'm warning you.
It may not seem like it, but I have much sway over the masses of Nation.
