I suspect that they'll treat it the exact same way as Full Swing and simply reduce the cooldown to 5 seconds.

Honestly, i'm pretty disappointed in every single person in Mabinogi. We have a huge number of skills at our disposal but I rarely see people use anything other than a select few cookie-cutter skills. Doppelganger is an awesome skill (even at lower ranks) and I never see people use that in combat. Head to KR Mabinogi and everyone uses that shit.
Final Hit? Nope. We don't use that here, not even as an alternative to Charge. Tumble? Triggered. Shockwave? Nope, never.
What about the other racial abilities? I understand that Mirage Missile isn't great but I haven't seen anyone use Mirage Missile, Magic Missile, or Final Shot in like fucking years. The same goes for Giant abilities to include Full Swing, which was once the top dog in Mabinogi.
People bitch and whine about skills being "bad" but never find ways to utilize them. If you start experimenting, you'll discover that a lot of these skills are more useful than you think. If you keep bitching and demand that everything gets stronger and stronger, DevCat is going to be forced to release more content like Girgashiy (and his % hp attacks) just to keep up.
So, there's really no reason for them to open Magic Missile up to wands/staves. If you're not gonna use the skill now, you're not gonna use the skill then.
I consider comboing my specialty actually,its pretty fun linking up skills.doppleganger and final hit are really nice movement skills .I was literally hoping ninja would be an fun melee DPS class for combos.but its actually pretty choppy and..badly designed in my opinion
