Snip~.
These are going to be out of order because it's late, sorry.
Why not rename the blacksmith talent like you did with the potion making talent, then stick the two skills in.
Wine making could be made an actual whine making process and not some really annoying mini game no one wants to do. Said wine can be then traded on the merchant system for ducats (You start in Tail), and depending on what wine you made heavily influences what place wants that wine. It could also be used in cooking and other small things.
Handicraft really does need to be removed. As well as Carpentry getting more things to make, like chairs and furniture for your player owned house/homestead. As a way to make trees less shity, the base gathering for them could be greatly increased and maybe...add...different types of wood from trees? Like not the fine finest and all that jazz, but different general types of wood that slightly or greatly effect the look and stats and stat rolls of items made with them as well as how good the campfire made from them is.
IF handicraft is still kept, I would at least like to see a campfire kit being added to it so we can carry those without needing a chunk of our inv to some random logs.
Demonic gear really got fucked hard. Ducats are just so annoying to get and even more so if you wana repair these damn things. Not to mention they were QUICKLY beat by new content.
I'm fine with new weapons being stronger MOST of the time, than what we currently have IF they aren't a complete flat buff compared to what we have. Like a new lance having slightly less dmg but very slightly higher penetration and more minimum range.
On the topic of lance penetration, that should be changed completely to be something other than a general number that represents what both def and prot is ignored. It should list both def and prot desperately so we can add some diversity to our lances both new and old.
Yes, I know (forgot at the time but thank you for the reminder) that new items don't replace old ones, sadly. In a perfect mabi that wouldn't be the case. *sigh*
While I agree that healing should be better, and I do have a few ideas for that, potions just seem much more accessible and quicker to the point that it's borderline stupid at how hard it is to make healing better/on par without making it OP. Events shit potions half the time, monsters drop decent ones, and there's an entire hot spring to remove pot poisoning in seconds. (Please don't remove this... XD I will admit I have chugged my share of pots but only from bull shit like near party wipes on blinker bullshit.)
One idea is to very VERY slightly nerf potions by giving them a small cooldown, nothing that's going to make them unspamable, but not to the same degree as currently...which is as fast as you can mash the key I think. Something like 1.5 seconds or even 1.25. Next you make more pots to still make them be good as well as add some verity to them, then you start making events shit out less desirable potions or none at all, and finally you buff healing and party healing like so~
Healing: Range increased without a wand by 100, defense added from having heal up no longer decreases as you use the charges and targets healed will have their defense increased by 1-20 (depending on rank) for 1 minute. Healing yourself does not use stamina but the defense boost time is cut in half.
Party healing: Range increased by 500, defense added from having it loaded changed to protection instead. Said protection lingers for 25 seconds after it is used.
Both have their base healing rate increased slightly.
Even if you don't do the stuff to potions, this should help healing out a fair deal.
Homesteads and player owned houses need to change, badly. Hell, they should honestly be the same thing at this point. Player owned houses should be replaced with stores and the entire player house map changed to look more like an actual fucking town (So 50+ 'shops' don't look out of place like hell...)
Now you can give the homestead house a god damn use. Please for the love of fuck don't make it a god damn basic ass square on the inside for every version of the house...
Walking with bard skills should have been a thing all along honestly. I'm not going to say that I can walk and play any instrument at the same time, but I'm also not saying that it's not 10000% do able and hasn't been done before because that's a fucking galaxy sized lie right there.
Really, your instrument, regardless of what type it is, should be the reason you USE it and not sing, while still letting people sing without too much reason not to for those that want to solo with it. Just reduce bard skills slightly and make all instruments have innate hidden increase to bard skills to fill this gap. Instrument smash shouldn't be the main reason you use that drum, the fact that it makes your buffs better should be.
Also just a general change to make bard skills more of a group thing would be nice. If the above doesn't seem like a good idea, I could see sing being the way it is now with a 30-60% nerf, with instrument/mic playing being a 'constant' thing where the buffs only last 5-10 seconds (depending on rank) after you stop, but are a tad bit better than they are now after you've played for a while. While yes, you lose one person to attack with...in a group you basically gained a grand total of 2-5.5 people in dmg total, provided you're in a group.
Though I guess if I were to think of any bard skills, they'd be dmging while VERY slightly debuffing the mobs hit/in a small area around. Maybe even a ranged skill or two.
Hunter talent seems nice honestly. Give that damn stuff a purpose besides basic ass melee and looks. (Though it is fun now to just turn into a fox or flying sword and beat shit up.)
Iria can have it's 3rd chance then. Dungeon's got a 2nd chance with hard mode and that was too early, leaving them in the dust for years, but we all still somewhat want a revamp for that. (At least I hope we do.) Nothing deserves to be 90% useless!
Talent restrictions, while nice, aren't everyone's cup of tea, especially in mabi, where the whole thing is do everything without much restriction. Though I think it COULD work BECAUSE of that very reason.
Knuckle skills were meant to be the fast paced DPS 'combo' skill set from the start. Then combat changed. Now they're okay but not as good as they used to be. Speeding up the animations based on will would be a very neat idea. While I'm not too keen on giving it much more than more options for combos...Let's give it it's own version of bash, the CORRECT bash, not the shit we have. I mean a skill that is very low to low dmg for high stun with a small cooldown that should be over after 1-2 of your other combo skills are done cooling off.
Oh yeah, bash change. I think I've said it before, but like, we sorta know it's not supposed to hit twice but also it should really just be a stun skill that does very low to low dmg, and at full 5 medium to low high. It's good for group play and solo that way.
I thought my idea for axes would be that they're good all around, mainly when a bulky def/prot target comes in, but also still have party play with the debuff. Not sure what else to do with them honestly. Any ideas?
Elements in alch are fine provided they are done right. They really fucked up fixing this even slightly when they did the revamp. I mean, are you serious? We even have something IN GAME showing us the relation of the elements. Use fire? You get fire AND EARTH. Use water? BAM THERE'S SOME WIND BITCH. Cylinders? Water cylinder: Fuck fire, fuck earth, holy water, fuck WIND. Yeah okay game. OKAY DEVKITTY.
Though that said I think I fucked up my own idea for them as elements in the weakness table with that very relation lol. Oh well.
As for cylinders, yeah sure. Let them buff one BUT for 'nerfing' the others, just require ONE extra crystal. Also don't just buff one, and why can't we make our own fucking cylinders? Tropa had a nice idea a while back where we could make our own and buff what WE wanted to buff. Oh well I guess.
Yes, we need more mixed stats from skills.
Like....
Windmill: You're telling me you're not nimble with that shit? Give me a lil bit of dex for that, it's the closest thing we have to 'nimble' in this game.
Smash: Let's get some will power in here.
Defense: Some int and a tiny bit of str at the cost of some hp would be nice. Defending yourself effectively requires you to be on your toes, strong enough to hold back the attack/take it, and finally know what's coming. Fail these and you failed defending yourself. We can at least get some int for this.
Support shot: Int again, you need to know where to hit them to do that.
Mag shot: Str there. You're pulling that string back really fucking hard. (Unless it's a xbow..but...whatever, still str.)
That's all I can really think of on that topic off the top of my head.
Cattering could use a slight nerf. Nothing too major. If we cut our stats a bit, it'd be much more welcome, but dishes on their own should be more varied in general to make use mix and match things to balance out, or overpower one another stat wise.
Books....I could see another magic skillset from them but idk. Using them with staves could be a thing as they'd just float around you because magic motherfucker. Uh....Tailoring for the finishing touches on a book if anything.
