I like how Vella doesnt have to crit to use Lann's only damaging move at full power 3 times in a row.
Unless they do something to change Vella, I see no point in Lann existing anymore. She has completely outclassed and replaced him.
-Her slip dash are showing similar traits with Lann’s. In other words, it needs to be ranked up to get 0.3 sec of invulnerability. So, as of now, the only advantage her evasion is showing over Lann’s is it’s longer range. I don’t see any Slip Slew equivalent for her ATM.
-Her gameplay seems to be centered around kind of playing like a spear Lann. Instead of infighting within close ranged as a sword Lann does, she has to rely on the range and mobility of her attacks like a spear Lann. What makes it tough to play like a sword Lann is that none of her smashes can be canceled by her evasion.
So while keeping up damage she will start to stack her Swordsman’s Pride, a stacking buff that increases the damage of her Cross Strike and enables her to pass through her enemy with the attack. It’s tricky getting the buff to 3 stacks since it is lost if you get hit or don’t hit a boss for 10 seconds. The Damage for pulling a successful 3-stack Cross Strike is unimpressive considering the difficulty of getting 3 stacks BUT
The buff should be easier to stack in a party along with a functional evasion.
I haven’t ranked up my skills yet and cross strike requires several skills and a ton of AP so it’s still early to judge it’s damage
-Typhoon slash on the other hand is doing some impressive damage
-Don’t judge the character’s damage with my vids, I’m still using a crappy Sharptooth sword that has slightly better stats than Skyfrost.

I dont even think Nerfing or buffing her in the test server would do anything.I'm pretty close to neutral on this character, but when I seen the triple gliding without crit proc it kind of urks me. How strong will that move be with maxed out skills and great gear? She's definitely going to outclass Sword Lanns on sandbaging situations. It would have been better if Devcat actually gave us new moves and tweaked the old ones rather then just upping the smash formula. All we got is a useless change for Thousand Needles.
Vella should have never existed, these skills should have gone into Lann, but thats just not the case. And all Devcat has to say is "she's NOT Lann"
