I have been thinking about what kind of ego an end game player with all skills maxed would have.
a llb for best ranger capabilities since by the time one maxes all skills (including life skills), he or she will have a lot of dex to spend on.
or
a dustin blade for best damage capabilities since with 600% smash damage, it can hurt things.
and i heard that most mobs in the future are just hp buffed mobs with dumb ais. so i will be able to smash spam with ease.

Are you really going to make other people research this? Why cant you just do it yourself...?

I don't know much about egos, but I guess the bow since from how it sounds you're depending on smash to use the Dustiin with :what:

Definitely NOT an llb. A maxed Wingbow has 71-129 attack anyway, so if an 'endgame' player wants a ranged ego, that will be their choice.
For melee, probably a bast-sword for the high max, which can go up to 290+ max damage when dual-wielded with an 'endgame-enchanted/upgraded' sword.

I don't think Range is endgame, melee and magic are much more efficient. And since wand egos aren't that good, it'd probably be a Dustin Sword or a Bastard Sword.

Hmmm i've said it before but using a Bow ego with magic/Alchemy isnt a bad mix end game wise. I struggle on this question myself quite a bit. I have a sword ego for melee but I don't melee alot since my Alchemy and magic are so strong. So I keep going back and forth on myself about doing some range with a Wingbow EGO with some Poisen pots. AR + High CP + poisen pots = very nice
Stupid me- cant use poisen pots on ego can you? lol

*i got the llb idea from zy >_<
oh well i still don't like bastard sword, few extra dmg for a lot of crit plus it takes one more space.
if i really want to go for extreme dmg, i would go with dustin >_<

Well the eternal paradox for playing ranged is that end game ranged players care less about the damage as long as they hit criticals. That's why I don't play with my LLB ego too much since, though I hit will over 300 max with it, I only have 55 critical. Personally, I find a good mix with it, where the LLB gets high damage and medium critical. Compared to the Ring Bow ego which has very high damage and meh critical and the Wing Bow ego with meh damage and stellar critical and range.

Well it's perhaps the definition of end game. But that's a little bit of murky water itself. I find range has the best DPS potential on single enemies, though most of the game is Windmilling and AoEing. But in the end, when Sparking and permaflinching becomes the standard, perhaps ranged and fill up for the gaps just by taking out enemies very quickly one by one.

It seems really situational to me. I rarely use my crit set because of the vast amount of damage I lose getting past hard protection ratings. Aside from Doppleganger, which has a very low 19% Protection and knockback resistance, is range able to compete with Smashmill or Blaze?

Dustin's 239 max doesn't even compare to..um the 189 max of a bast-sword plus maybe a Willow Spike War Sword (120 max, or more?). Total = 299 max.
Crit for MELEE doesn't matter too much when its over 30, as windmill ignores protection for criticals.

No, I really meant an ego Wingbow. It has slightly less max than an ego llb, but a load more crit.

Blaze gets nerfed eventually, so that Icespear + Blaze (the only way to get multiple knockdown hits) is half as efficient.
I would say that an elf spamming magnum would beat melee on <3 monsters. But after that, melee wins (as long as the player is proficient at pet control and stuff) Especially since Frozen Blast and Spark.
Human range fails though

Blaze doesn't need Ice Spear to be a great skill. If you rule out parties and pet play, you can still 2+Blaze for well over 2000 damage non-crit in hard.
As for Frozen Blast, failing to freeze a target is a huge drawback if you're using it without a party since it still causes aggro and you can't move.

*spits out soda*
Wow, I never knew it could get remotely that high. The damage is a little underwhelming but still, I might have to consider changing egos. Still, it find it funny how the Wing Bow ego at 50 has as much damage as the Ring Bow at 40.
