I dont think Kai can even build SP in a 24 man raid, especially considering his SP decays faster then you can build it.
Not true. It's not easy with things moving all over the place, but SP definitely does build if you attack enough. On the polar bear, anyway.

Yeah Kai gains sp in 24-man, it's just lost pretty quickly. It may not be much--or enough to get a smash in, but at least we know we get some...

Kai's Twister Kick counts as a "kick" and a smash. Just throwing it out there. Also, rA Eagle is erotic.

I just kinda wish they removed Kai's decaying SP in 24 man raids only.
and arrows really dont work with the physics engine. :|
if you shoot a box thats holding up another box, the top box just floats.

In 24 man raids i usually build 2 bars of sp then switch to longbow 2 spam magnum shot.
1 bar of sp lets me spam around 4-5 magnum shots (which seems effective cuz it hits raid bosses like 808538405x while passing through them)
(Magnum seems to use less SP in 24 man raids than normal dungeon)
Also after playing around with kai's normal atk animation theres a glitch where if u sprint and spam normal atk to cancel out the running animation kai shoots really fast. (Almost double atk speed)
Ex.
Sprint > leftclick spam till atk speed resets back to normal > repeat
-it seems that you only get around 5 shots with the atk speed boost
-if u time it perfectly u can sprint > shoot 5 > sprint really fast (i personally double tap any direction key) > instantly normal atk again > repeat to permanently keep the atk speed bonus ("reloading" arrows)
(This needs more testing)
(also not sure if this is a glitch or intended)

So far I've gotten my Kai up to lvl 42. He's really easy and he's fun to play against hard bosses (bosses that require a lot of dodging and such). Can solo almost anything, more so than Karok, in my opinion.
I think Combat Mastery should always be maxed, and Battle Respiration should be rank A immediately. Critical hit is also a decent choice, as his normals do have a crit chance. I find that spamming Arrow Storm is very useful, not only for large mob crowds, but also for bosses, as it does do a lot of damage, even at lower ranks.

If you stick on the boss and are smart about your shots, you can get sp a lot easier, imo, than other characters due to the spamability of his skills. Sure, he has the decay, but he also has the dps.

The hell? That never happened to me.

Happens to me all the time. It falls back to the ground if you touch it.

After reading what everyone is saying, I have to ask... am I the only one who absolutely loves using the longbow? Unless there's a lot of little mobs coming after me, I'll usually just whip out my longbow and 1 or 2 shot most things. And with practice, you can drill most any mob in the blink of an eye. And with more testing, it still seems to me that you need to time the shot correctly to get the piercing and damage boosting effect (represented by the light around the arrow).

I like the long bow, but the short bow allows me to regain SP faster so that I can use Ricochet which kills most normal mobs in one shot, or Hail of Arrows which stuns bosses.

Yes, I like the longbow as well. When it comes to smaller mobs (ex. spiders) I use the short bow and just spam arrows. But with others I like using the longbow, it's more interesting that way. And yes, there's small thread of light that appears on Kai whenever the time comes to fire the longbow, it kills most mob targets instantly and makes break-offs swift and simple.

Uhhh, no it doesn't.
I have 4k attack (level 29) and I'm not killing things in one shot with that.

Yeah, I tested it more and it is only right after the burst. Sorry for getting that wrong earlier.
It's worth noting it also has a longer range cap if you time it right. Noticed it while running the Labryinth. The only way Longbow can match Shortbow in damage output is if you can perfectly time that.
However you still lose the mobility, you drain your stamina insanely quickly, and you can't get any burst damage with the kicks. I much perfer playing Kai close range with kicks, and I feel it offers the highest damage output.

I like to switch it up...
I use mostly shortbow+burst kicks on normal mobs.
For bosses I like to build AP with shortbow, use hail of arrows, then magnum/thatoneskillthatridesbosses.
