Honestly, I felt that Amon attacking Tarlok at that moment was awfully close to being Deus Ex Machina,as there was no explanation for how Amon even knew he was there, and that whole episode felt a bit rushed to me. This more recent episode totally made up for it by being awesome though.

Amon has whole damn city in his hands
and spies everywhere
not hard for him to track down tarlok
especially since he attracted attention with the fake Korra abduction

Anyone else feel that most of the benders in the show suck at well... bending? Aside from Korra, Tenzin, Lin and Tarrlok, everyone seems like they're half-assed benders. I suppose it's because they've been living in peaceful times.
And I'm seriously hoping that if General Iroh's a firebender, he was trained by Zuko or something so we can see some decent firebending from someone not named Korra.

I don't know. Chi-blocking is sort of an anti-bending style. It's understandable if they don't do that well against it.

On that relationship thingy.
I thought Mako being a jerk was already pretty official. Dude, you have a girlfriend, and it's pretty obvious that she's hurting. Don't go all Scott Pilgrim on both of them. Yes, it's natural to be worried about someone he cares about but his girlfriend hasn't exactly had the easiest time lately. Also, instead of trying to blame this situation on Bolin telling her, he should take the opportunity to actually talk about it. I don't think Asami wanted to talk about it but now she's not handling it in a way I think is right. However, I can understand
that because when she wanted to talk about it it didn't really go how she'd hoped.
I'm still biased towards Bolin and Korra being a couple, too. With them getting along so well, it makes a lot of sense to me. Bolin was there for Korra when she wasn't feeling awesome, and didn't accuse her of being a liar when she found something that disturbed her.
EDIT:
Private bending lessons.

I can find you a stream somewhere if you want. I don't think a summary could do it justice.

The season finale was awesome.
Though I really thought she was going to go into avatar state when she saw Tenzin and the kids captured.
the season finale
Okay we all know why it's nice
but lets go over all the bads
1. Bolin is still a flat character
2. Relationship rollercoaster
3. no explanation why bloodbending blocks bending. It blocking the physical aspects of chi doesn't count.
4. season 2 need better writers
5. the series is practically wrapped up. Amon is gone.
Just watched both episodes like 10 minutes ago...I can say it was 'OK' and I agree with what's been said about the ending moments being awesome.
Glad that Asami 'wrapped' things up with her Dad. Ohohoh!
Got some awesome moments from the General as well. REminded me of Azula's 'fire-jet' skillz. As expected of a General.
...here's hoping Bolin steps up his game and MAYBE learns metal-bending next season. I was disappointed that they couldn't get out by themselves...though Naga came in handy PLENTY of times this season...the finale being no exception.
And I guess I'm glad she didn't go all AVATAR STATE when seeing Tenzin and the others there.
All-in-all,things were pretty well-played...kinda sad that Tarlok's gone, but he was generally an antagonist so...
And the Equalist guy who we first saw with the loudspeaker near the beginning of this season...his expression was PRICELESS when the truth was seen by everyone. XD
Awesome finale was pretty AWESOME.

That's like a running gag for the writers now.
How many times can we troll our fanbase with the idea of what happened to Zuko's mom.

On a sidenote...
Did anyone else go 'YEAH ! YEAH! YE-NOOOO!!" when the General was taking down those planes himself and then gets bombed? I saw the setup, but I wasn't thinking it'd actually happen....
Kinda like how Bolin almost got triple-teamed by those mechs.
Annnd...someone remind me who the main equalist-guard guy was...? The one who saw Noatak bloodbend and said 'I devoted my LIFE to you!' For some reason,I was like 'Ok,who's this guy again...?'
