@Bloodbending:
We already know that chakras are associated with bending, and every chakra "resides" in a real, physical organ or gland of the body, and we know a lot about how particular chakras affect bending thanks to the guru who taught Aang avatar state.
The forehead chakra resides in the pituitary gland. It deals with insight, and is blocked by illusion. The most powerful type of illusions are the ones that you invent yourself, as any practitioner of prestidigitation knows well.
The guru also said that the most prominent illusion is the illusion of separation, in this case, the separation of a bender from their bending. Amon could have blocked up the chakra, and made a person believe they lost their bending.
Though, that's a kind of weak explanation, since people should be able to clear their own chakras, without the use of qi bending.
@Mako:
Wow, now that I've gotten over how much I want you and Korra to be together, and I'm just finally warming up to you being in a relationship with Asami, you do this?
Also, did anyone else get the feeling that Asami would betray them to the equalists? Every time she did that shifty eyed look to the side, I felt that way.
@Amon + Tarrlok
[S]SHIP![/S]
For some reason, at that last moment, I was so sad. I was like, "But things could have gone so much better why?!"
I think Amon knew what his brother was gonna do. There was that single tear of understanding shed at the last minute.
P.s. I only like Tarrlok. Amon is still douchebag #1.
@General Iroh
Plz, Zuko, get out of that adult body and stop being named Iroh.
@Hobos
And what happened with the hobos? Plz I need to know.
@Finale in general
Still, I can't help but feel like everything wrapped up a little too quickly. We didn't even get to relish the break up of the equalists. I would have loved to see a few episodes between Korra saying the truth and then Amon revealing himself by bending. The way Mako said, "We said what we needed to say," made it feel like there was gonna be some equalist dissonance that we would get to enjoy. All in all, the equalists were a bunch of weak sheeple. I mean, really, did they think no bending meant equality? They all seemed to be pretty middle class, when their prominent supporter mister Sato didn't do much to improve their daily life. In an equalist (read: communist) ideal, all of Sato's assets should have been distributed equally among the mass.
Also, I smelled a lot of "just because" going on during those episodes. Oh the hobo somehow knows how to send secret telegrams. Just because. Sato somehow intercepted a telegram. Just because. (Also defeating the purpose of letting the hobo telegraph, but whatever.) Amon captured Tenzin and his family DESPITE Lin's heart wretching sacrifice just one episode earlier. Just because.
Amon, the super tactician, who, through sheer superiority of intellect, has outsmarted and outmaneuvered every action made against him, with minor "losses" that resulted in his enemies sacrificing a lot for a little gain, just after realizing that Korra knows his true identity SOMEHOW FAILS to make the basic and simple connection that, if she knew about his name, she must also know about his bending, and lets Korra reveal his secret to the majority of the equalists. Just because.
Oh, but hey, no biggy, he plays it off like a pro by showing off a scar which, according to the sheeple of the equalists, is indisputable proof that Amon lost his family to firebenders. Just because. But it's actually makeup, just because. (But I think it would have been more epic if Amon had purposefully burned himself but whatever.)
Also, Amon, who, up until now, has shown the most phenomenal calm and clarity, loses his cool and shows off his bending in front of a mass of equalist sheeple in a flourish. Just because. (Though, this one I can kind of understand. He was so used to being able to dominate his enemies that he had probably never taken a real hit in all his life, and was like

and not knowing what to do. Also, probably the reason he used makeup and didn't go with the actual scar which actually stays crispy in water. But whatever.)
To sum it up: Best episode so far.
