I'm not an expert on Mabi's lore, but if Mabi 2 is a prequel... doesn't that mean no more Nao? Since she is... Mari

Storyline of Mabinogi II doesn't necessarily take place after Mabinogi nor even in the same universe.

never ceases to amaze me how any mabinogi 2 thread devolves into breasts.
Because breast physics are the highlight of the 3D graphics and physics engine examples.
If it can handle those right, it can
probably handle everything else right.

I don't see why people are acting like it would be a problem if it was just a remake. the inefficient engine was the only major problem with how the original was set up(at-least before they made fighter skills. Oh, and shadow missions.)

Are they still going with the Mabi2=prequel theory? Jesus christ you crazies.
Devs haven't confirmed squat, it was a sequel at first, now it's up the air until official word comes out

The title is Mabinogi 2. Vindictus is the prequel, Mabinogi is present-day Erinn, why wouldn't Mabinogi 2 be a sequel? Is it a prequel to a prequel? Or a prequel after a prequel? Or does Vindictus somehow miraculously end somewhere before Mabinogi starts?
Would be a whole lot easier for devCAT to have Vindi -> Mabi -> Mabi2 ->????????

it was never a sequel or a prequel. it's a new game based on the same story, and probably covers everything in mabi AND everything in vindi.

Er, wasn't it confirmed (and announced) that Vindictus and Mabinogi don't actually take place in the same universe? Like, it's similar lore, but a different story entirely.
Or maybe I'm just missing something and they changed their minds again.

The crazies claim that the concept art from last year is irrefutable proof that this is a prequel, dem crazies mang

Project started as a sequel, what'll become, only the devs know

People are confusing the idea of a game sequel a storyline sequel. Even if the game were Mabinogi II it'd be a sequel even if the storyline were otherwise.

Getting into semantics is silly. Fact of the matter is that Devcat have stated the game will be different from any other and that you've said that they will be similar (and then different later on).It does when you consider that site existed since early days and only really exists to hire people (i.e. it's not really a teaser site). In fact that's basically what the large gold text below the logo says, "devcat studios are looking for people to work on Mabinogi II" (in a nutshell). This is ignoring that it's not as if companies haven't changed titles/logos prior to game publication.
EDIT: And because no one else seems to have posted them, Mabinogi II character artwork presented at the 2011 Nexon Developer Conference. In order from top to bottom, "Mabinogi 2 concept art", Nuadha (yes, he looks nothing like the Nuadha we know), Morrighan, Cichol, Macha (without red hair in contrast to our lore), Neamhain and "Ehune" (I don't know what the approximate celtic spelling will be, a lot of the celtic names are rendered differently in Korean and don't always match up to their actual pronunciation).
IIRC, they never actually confirmed that Macha has red hair. We assume she has red hair because NPCs say she looked like Rua, but that could have been referring to other features.
Also, if you look closely(dificult because of the glare), her hair is a bit orrange. They're making the graphics more realistic in this one, so they can't exactly just paintbucket the whole thing FF0000.
Can't really disagree about Nuadha though, the new one looks like a cross between Mr. T and Albus Dumbledore.

It was mentioned "by the stories" that Macha had flaming-red hair, and was a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. People believed Rua to look like Macha because of that, not vice-versa. However, yes. All we have to rely on for information of her apparel is stories, and I'm sure that we all know how much stories can be warped by time/ people.
It's also just as likely that the deities can (and do) get a wardrobe/ etc change every once in a while, judging by how the apparent Neamhain does not at all look like she bears the same olive skintone that she does in chapter 3.

Now that you mention it...

Macha's called the "Red Goddess" as well, other references are fleeting.

Quoted for truth. Getting good boob jiggle physics requires millions upon millions of lines of code.
