Tera Free Week

  Free week actually started a few days ago, so as of now there are only 3 and a half days left until the free week ends. Since I haven't touched this game in a few months, I figured I would take the opportunity to return and dive in to all the content that have been released.
  
  Because I had more or less maxed the game out when I left, I'm still in tip top shape to be able to at least keep up with all the new content straight from logging in. Quite handy actually.
  
  To be completely fair, this game is honestly "free to play". I just gave the game an explorative 4 hour run, and it made me 1400 gold. Exactly enough gold to buy a chronoscroll, and in-game item which will lengthen my subscription by 30 days.
  
  They really revamped the way some classes work. Lancers got 2 new skills, and their blocking ability was removed from mana and given its own resource bar called "resolve". Its a really great change that benefits the class while still giving them a challenging management of resources. I tried one of new dungeons today, and its really really fun.

  To be honest, having played nothing but League of Legends and Guild Wars 2 for the past two months, going through this dungeon was like a mind blowing adventure. The combat in this game is just far too exhilarating, fast paced, and skill based that it makes other games feel like a snooze fest.

  The raid however, was not as enjoyable. On top of it being a weekend, it being free week probably contributed to probably the worst overcrowding experience ever. I got like 0 fps, so I literally just stood there (its not like I would've been able to move even if I tried). I guess someone in my party hit something, because I got the participation credit for it :/
  
  I also really missed my super cute Elin >//////<
  
  I'm going to try the other dungeon and a smaller raid tomorrow, along with the new pvp mode that models itself off moba games where a party enters a LoL Dominion-esque map. There is this super awesome dungeon I want to try but I don't think I'll be able to get the necessary gear prepared for it before my free week ends.

  Contemplating on buying a chronoscroll so I can do this.

  Kitae just so you an everyone else knows, it's only free week for the people that hase already bought the game. But yeah this game is fun as hell. So much better than Guild Wars 2 imo

  Yeah its very similar to eve online's system. Except its 10 times easier to get a chronoscroll in a mmorpg like Tera because Eve online is one huge ass secondary economic simulator whereas Tera is a video game.
  
  I mean like I said I did get one after 4 hours of gameplay so its not a big deal.
  
  You could argue that I should just stick to playing games like Guild Wars 2 since its not pay to play, but the amount of time I invested into making gold so I can convert it to gems so I can buy cash shop items easily by far exceeds 24 hours, some of those items which you really need to play the game comfortably.

  Oh well for anyone who hasn't bought the game you get a week trial at any given point anyways, though honestly gameplay under level 52 is by no means any good indication of what the game is actually like whatsoever imo because the ai doesn't actually fight back properly and your character has no combat options.
  
  I think Tera is actually a terrible game for the leveling portion. You'll understand what I mean when you get to around level 40. Seeing the same god damn pig, and the same god damn npc telling you to kill 20 of them, over and over again, it'll drive you nuts. Thankfully they added a lot of leveling crutches to make that transition a bit easier.
  
  Theres actually a lot of diverse end game content so I feel like the game truly begins at around level 56. Shouldn't take over a week to reach that far if you're dedicated. My friend started a lancer 9 days ago and its got higher gear rating than me right now.

  Yeah. You should mention that you're level 60 so its very easy to get gold for you compared to someone who just started.

  Really boring levelling and simple gameplay was what initially turned me off from it.

  My old client is broken so I have to uninstall it and reinstall the new one... which means 24GB of downloading. I live out in some forest somewhere so that's going to take me like 5+ hours probably. More because I'm playing Vindictus today and I need to host, lol.
