the cat agrees here
Starcraft Broodwar is still popular, the 8th most played game in Korea currently.
while SC2 is below the 25th and dropping
There's so little hype for the Zerg expansion
The viewership for SC2 is going down while games like LoL and DotA 2 are increasing
with DotA 2, a game still in beta, reaching an audience of about 500,000-1,000,000 interested fans.
MLG's reporting that the money they're investing for SC2 isnt good compared to profits
oh and why SC2 is junk

There is also one more huge problem. HoTS does not add anything significantly new to the game-play even though it has all these new units. It is still the same old Starcraft 2. Even the streams seems to have a greatly decreased interest in HoTS now.

Is that list actually correct? The lack of some features makes me think it's pre-Alpha state. @_@

Depends on what you are comparing.
SC1 bnet vs SC2 bnet, no
WC3 bnet vs SC2 bnet, yes.
First time reading that list I was thinking half the list was wrong because I was thinking SC1 vs SC2 but once you factor in WC3, yeah its true.

Destiny riled up the whole sc2 community hard a few days ago. His timing was quite good, since it was right after the million dollar league of legends tournament, the best korean team slayers breaking up, several high profile players leaving starcraft for other games, etc. On top of that, he came out to do a podcast where he explained in detail.
You can see the short cut out segment (full vod here:

Yesterday, State of the Game came back to discuss this exact issue (vod here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7McO7LwxL0w)
Supposedly, Blizzard responded last night by saying they'll bring in some high profile players to improve the game. I don't think Destiny will be included even though the things he has to say are usually
spot on as fuck.

also Blizzard takes a cut out of tournaments above $5000 prize pool
you have to LOVE starcraft 2 to bear the practice and effort it takes to earn a decent living

It sounds like these pro sc2 teams have not figured out what alot of other entertainment industries already have
Fans = your life blood
Why do the idols in jp do all those handshake events/signing events if its creepy to them?
It makes them money by giving fans a reason to buy their stuff
Movie stars try not to act out of conduct or risk disappointing their fans
movie stars = fans watching = movie tickets = salary
sc2 teams = fans watching = ads = sponsors= tournament money

Unfortunately thats not it. The pro teams understand 100% well.
Its blizzard that doesn't. Blizzard gives the game very very little support.
Basically, what Destiny is saying here is that there can't be fans if the game itself has no grounds for a casual audience. And its true. SC2 has absolutely no casual audience.

Then blizzard killed their own game

Wow, this Destiny guy just owned SC2. There's nothing in his statements that you can argue with.

I bow to Destiny and refute everybody else in ignorance.
Just kidding, he is a smart dude though.

I watch his stream every day in fanboyish glee as I bask in his glorious wisdom to refuel my life's essence.
But seriously, he's a pretty funny guy and every once in a while he'll just start talking to his viewers about all sorts of things (from music theories to philosophies, etc) and I learned a lot from it.
