Upon seeing this, I give up on "Mabinogi 2" (screw that, call it Vindictus 2 and be done with it. It looks nothing like Mabinogi. Then again, Vindictus is called Mabinogi Heroes in KR :P).
I, and I'm sure a lot of others, want an actual sequel, including re-done anime-ish graphics on a completely new engine. Not this Vindictus-looking shit -_-
If it wasn't labeled as Mabinogi 2, I would have been interested. But this of course ruined expectations (no surprise there, from what little we actually knew about it this doesn't surprise me that much D:)

2013... Late 2013 for all we know, and that's only for Korea. We probly won't see it for another year after at the earliest. Hinting at the subtitle "Arena" gives me an assumption they will be putting some actual effort into pvp. Another thing, seeing as more gods will come into play, there may be factions, each god providing different abilities, some gods themselves having an alliance of sorts, perhaps somewhere in the story there will be an all out war between them.
Some of my main concerns... Will there be character integration between the two? Just as much as the next person, I don't want to abandon everything I have here. Will it be character based like Vindictus? I personally don't like being forced into specific roles. I like the semi boundless character development of Mabi. I like my ability to play as the archetype of Battlemage with the touch of a bit of everything else here and there. And will it still be a "Fantasy Life?" Pretty self explanatory, it's one of the charms of Mabinogi.

Seconded. I'm not a big fan of these overly modern/realistic games. It's one of the main reasons I love Mabinogi so much, sans the game mechanics themselves.

^This
If it comes over here, its probably not going to be called Mabinogi 2 anyways. I wonder what they would called it then.

When I first saw that I wasn't sure what it was.. But 'Colossus puppet' popped into my head, which it most likely isn't.[/SIZE]

I can't say I'm too impressed/interested with it until we learn more about the gameplay mechanics.

Oh thank god. I thought it was going to be a complete replacement/successor to Mabinogi. It seems like this is a dungeon crawler/beat em up-- which can't really replace the fantasy life elements of Mabinogi. Well, I guess I was the only one thinking this way anyway...
I on the otherhand was expecting a complete replacement/upgrade. I think we can all agree that we enjoy the Mabinogi 'fantasy life' style of game play, (otherwise why be here), but in reality, the game is quite old. With new technology and a more powerful engine, I was hoping devCat could really take it to the next level.
I'm quite disappointed already looking at the
trailer, certainly seems more of a instance based dungeon crawler like Vindictus/DiabloIII rather than open field. Just looking at the camera angle and combat involved, it looks a lot more crash/slash with less emphasis on combos and less of the beautiful scenery and landscape you see in Mabinogi.
All we can do it wait I guess. Those other videos of the players sitting around the campfire do seem a lot closer to second person oriented.
Edit: Rewatching the game play, theres an blatant lack of damage numbers or enemy hp bars? A long shot indication of the type of game play we can expect?

Shit/10. Utter shit. Is DevCat even trying? Is this what they're trying to focus all their attention to? Basically Vindictus 2, when Vindictus 1 was so much of a flop they had to give away level 50 characters for a month as damage control?
Not fucking interested. I can safely say that very little of the Mabinogi playerbase will jump ship to this, because it's not an updated version of Mabinogi, it's another trendy hack and slash MMO.

why people tend to judge based on a few images or vids.
happened with vindictus but in the oppossite, everyone expected a mabinogi 1 with better graphics, just based on pics of someone using a kite shield
and stuff. Results: it wasn't anything like the comments said back then.
About the art, it looks good to me, someone posted about missing cell-shaded graphics, i can clearly see cell-shaded graphics here, its just made in a better way so maybe many can't notice it because they are blind for all the rant. So far i can say it seems like not a point-and-click-to-atack but thats it. No one knows how the game mechanics work. All we have are the graphics, and looks NOTHING like vindictus, not even the same shading, not even the same ENGINE as many tech reviews said, not the same body models or faces, and it is known that the bone systems for character modeling isnt the same.
I think people here suffers the "its a WoW copy" syndrome.
I'll just give it a try when it comes out, it wont replace mabinogi1 since i play more games, it will replace the last game on my list and thats it, if it becomes number one, i'll just play it more than mabi1, if it sucks, ill just leave it 1 week later as i did with vindictus.

You clearly have no idea what cel-shading is, otherwise you couldn't possibly misconstrue those graphics as being even remotely reminiscent of cel-shading.
Nexon has released some details in the past, albeit sparingly. Some of which included that Mabinogi 2 would have classes and "completely different game world and game-play characteristics from the original." That would lead one to infer that it will lack an open-ended skill system as well as many other sandbox/fantasy life elements that we all love about Mabinogi.
However, like I said in my previous post, maybe G*Star will reveal something really impressive, but in the mean time, I think a lot of people are pessimistic about it for the previously stated reasons.

i know what it is, it doesn't need to look like a dragon ball z shading to be a cel-shading, its a shading technique used on many games that maybe you wont notice.

Well according to steparu's page, its not gender locked and it doesn't have restrictions between classes and it says mixing up of classes to make your own style. So I'm guessing that part wise it'll be similar to Mabinogi. I mean isn't Mabinogi basically the same thing right now with life skills though. Maybe they'll add that into the mix as well.
It says it'll also play like a fighting game so I don't think it's going to be vindictus 2.0. It's probably going to involve chaining combos and swapping through fighting styles to do damage rather than dodging and attacking and spamming aoe.
The only part I'm worried about is that if it'll still have some what of an open world to explore.
