Meh, not going to play it well at least that's my decision now, I'll give it some time to see more videos of it then decide; hopefully if I do decide to play it I'll have my new computer .-.

I still don't know enough to see if I like it or not. I like freedom in a game, which is why I prefer something like the original Mabinogi and even Guild Wars 2. I'll have to be more before I decide for sure.

It's not Vindictus 2, but then again, it's not much of Mabinogi either. That is, if you discount the Fighter destiny and the combat system changes earlier.
I wasn't expecting an upgrade to Mabinogi anyway. That's just unlikely since it's more profitable (to a F2P publisher) to keep both games running than to shut one down or siphon it off.
I, for one, am excited about the lore's advances in technology. I mean, a mech being used to take down Glas? :ran_monkey:

When I first saw that I wasn't sure what it was.. But 'Colossus puppet' popped into my head, which it most likely isn't.[/SIZE]
Ikr? even if this does come out... I believe I'll stick to Mabinogi.
I'm old fashion like that.

It may not be Vindictus, but it ain't Fantasy Life (and Mabinogi has fallen short of the concept, but it's still there). So I don't see why they should market it as a successor to Mabinogi.

A better mabinogi something that westerners will cling to like league and WoW ?? I know my friends dont play because the 'graphics are bad' and 'baby game' and other dumb excuses. Also the technology is here now, mabinogi is an old MMORPG... :O , Personally I just like to think they are making an amazing badass version, strike revenge!!!!!!!!!!!!
... lol random thoughts ^

Yeaaah...I loved the direction that fight was heading in. Too bad they cut off what was about to happen to his head.

I for one was not expecting a Mabinogi with better graphics like some people apparently were.
The game doesn't look like vindi in anything either. Just cause the models are realistic doesn't mean it's automatically vindi...
The models and all look very good.
Here's a video on how some combat will look.

Time to wrestle :P.

i think thats why nexon is releasing so many stuff lately
so people stay on both as the M2 is released, they know that people likes to try all the skill tabs which requires time (and Nx to make it faster)
so its a big profit there, leaving mabi without content b4 M2 release is risky, is a known market technique to make you own products compete between them, if they know a lot about something is marketing. I wish they was that good with debugging.

Early mabi draws heavily from diablo gameplay, with the added fantasy life theme and a more animeish aesthetic.
I like what I'm seeing so far, although poor Glas, he's being reduced to a joke character now ;_;
Hopefully more info comes out in the next months, and I pray to Aton Cimeni nexon doesn't make it US/CA onry and I don't have to play with proxies like with Vindi.

Uhh.. I like Mabi's graphics.. If I wanted a game that looked like this I never would have joined Mabi in the first place.

People jumping to conclusions waaaay too fast.
Quote from Yandere;973552:
You clearly have no idea what cel-shading is, otherwise you couldn't possibly misconstrue those graphics as being even remotely reminiscent of cel-shading.
Nexon has released some details in the past, albeit sparingly. Some of which included that Mabinogi 2 would have classes and "completely different game world and game-play characteristics from the original." That would lead one to infer that it will lack an open-ended skill system as well as many other sandbox/fantasy life elements that we all love about Mabinogi.
However, like I said in my previous post, maybe G*Star will reveal something really impressive, but in the mean time, I think a lot of people are pessimistic about it for the previously stated reasons.
Pro tip, Cel shaded != Animu style

One of the most beautiful games done with Cel shading, it uses a more stylized look compared to the most common "cartoonish" visuals in videogames. Mabi 2 seems to use something similar to blade&sould, but less plastic-ish looking.

i like the korean art style (which is the one applied here, looks somewhat like anime characters with a western style touch) i like mabi demi-chibi style, but mabi is more than just the graphics, it has many features that aren't together on a single game.
The nearest we have to this is EE and wonderland online, EE with the class-less (but still limited) system, and wonderland online with the fantasy life part.
I really loved wonderland but being pro-afk ruined it, everyone afk all day long, there's no one to chat with, the battle system is old school turn-based and i love it, but i like mabi battle system the more. There are lot of stuff on wonderland that i would die to have them on mabi.
