lol @ nubs raging at it. Looks pretty cool to me. With those 3 control buttons, it looks like they are putting emphasis back on Mabi's original rock/paper/scissors combat tactics in a more streamlined system. Looking forward to play it when it comes out here. :D

That was a real nice gameplay demo, my only real complaint is the timer at the doors. They need to get rid of it or make it go faster. Also there was Tiro near the end of the dungeon, that was a nice touch, lol. Man, I hope that nexon doesn't make this US/CA onry, I'm more anxious to play it and I don't want to go through hoops and loops again like with vindi.
Feels bad for glas though, I had a feeling from the previous video, but they really made him the new gnoll chieftain. Either that or the demo has super buff characters so they threw them at an end game dungeon ;_;

That'd be pretty cool if they made the dungeon areas like mabinogi 1 as well where keys orbs are required to open the doors instead of the arcade style beat em up and advance kind of thing.
I like the camera view on the whole thing as well.
The whole feel of it is like a cross between Mabionogi and Vindictus's gameplay elements. Mabinogi style rock-paper-sissors combat and look with Vindictus's type controls, physics and rough and tumble combat style. Even the graphics I'd say is sort of a marriage between the two games where the style is like Mabinogi but the graphics aren't as intensive as Vindictus. It's probably good for mid-high performance computers so it'll be good for a wide audience.

I'm really not seeing the vindictus comparison here, the only thing they have in common is that they don't use the animu style. The gameplay looks more like Rusty hearts/DFO than vindi.

Anyone complaining that this isn't a Mabinogi replacement is retarded because it's not meant to be a Mabinogi replacement. It's meant to exist alongside Mabinogi and Mabinogi Heroes/Vindictus and presents a different sort of game compared to either (also do people even remember what mabi essentially was back in C1?). If you don't like it you don't have to play! Your option is to continue playing Mabinogi!
Anyway regarding the video, from left to right the four characters are labelled:
Ringring
Weapon Class: Wandering minstrel
Fighting Style: Trickster
Character Body: Shorty
Nonomi
Weapon Class: Prosecutor (???)
Fighting Style: Landwalker
Character Body: (can't make it out)
Sparrow
Weapon Class: Archer
Fighting Style: Technician
Character Body: Slender
Dark Colossus
Weapon Class: Warrior/fighter
Fighting Style: (dunno, bear dragger?)
Character Body: I think hunk? O_o
From there when the person choose Nonomi it lists some moves beneath:
(dunno)
Heavy stander guard
Smash
Tension Breaker
And the dungeon they choose is Alby! The other is [something] Underground Prison. Boss at the end is Glas :B Towards the end of the fight "BODY STRENGTH IS INSUFFICIENT!" or something similar flash onscreen in big orange letters (maybe a strength debuff?) followed not long after by a time warning. Some time after that in large yellow writing "holy spear is in the process of arriving" (I think the thing that ends the battle at the end of the time limit).

Have another video, can't be bothered translating any more for now. Small note, the zxc attack system seems to work on a rock paper scissors system (eg z > x >c >z etc) so possibly you can't just spam one attack and expect everything to go well.

Well, this certainly looks amusing now.

koreans wont buy an Xbox just to play Mabinogi, they mostly have PS3 (as almost all the countries does but USA and Canada) so nu
and being on a console is not good for a mmorpg, and you can use your controller on your PC as well so, why going into consoles?
this video kinda makes me worry about the game tho, we don't need another vindictus, i mean, i dont need a vindictus at all :c
You never heard of GFWL then.

i do, but i don't pay to play online, i pay for either the game or the goods on it.
@Mystickskye thanks for the translations, its nice to see that new alby regardless the game being what i want or not. If it has rock paper scissors system i think i can enjoy it, that's why i started to play mabi.

Cool, it may look like an amazing game but take off that
Mabinogi II title off of it, then I'm pretty sure all of us would stop bashing it, at bit less.

but I certainly wouldn't want the same formula recycled in a better engine.
Isn't that the whole point of making another game titled the same thing? Just more storyline, but it should maintain some of it's old characteristics. Make it recognizable to some point of reference that it's the same game. I'm sure there will be storyline to it but I was honestly expecting possibly those graphics, but something that still retained knowing exactly what you're doing to fight. Not just zxc button mashing. ^ Because it's a demo, they've probably made premade archtype characters for people to try in a demo dungeon.
Actually, regardless of the criticism that many people here have shown towards Mabi 2 Arena. I kinda like the look of it. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting bored of mabi but I certainly wouldn't want the same formula recycled in a better engine. It really reminds me of a frantic arcade game like Gauntlet.
Looks pretty fun to play with a controller though. I definitely wouldn't touch this without one.
Considering the low amount of buttons needed to play, I'm assuming that they intended the game to be easily controller-compatible.

Somehow, Devcat has managed to make a Bard class that plays even
less music.
