Don't they have the power, through the ToS, to ban anyone and everyone for nothing at all?
If it's not on the ToS, they shouldn't be able to do that, though I think their ToS tries to limit you as much as possible...
Also known as, full of bullshit.

read of their TOS, saw nothing about discussing future content
fuck off, nexon
While using the Service, you agree not to:
Harvest or collect information about the Service, visitors to the Site or users of the Service without their express consent;
Download, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, modify, distribute or publicly display any of the content or information contained in the Service except as expressly authorized by this Agreement
Modify the Software, Cash Items or the Service to change "game play," including, without limitation, creating cheats and/or hacks or using third-party software to access files in the Software or Service;
Reverse engineer, packet sniff, decompile or disassemble all or any portion of the Service, Cash Items or Software;
Pretty much all of those apply from the ToS, which hasn't changed since May 2011.
The irony when Nexon begins "not supporting" the best fan site for their game and nothing of value is lost.
It's funny, because perfectly legitimate players are getting permanent bans. If Nexon doesn't want these rumors to continue, then why don't they start explaining the ban reason?
We lost a guild member to a "data-mining" permaban. ;;
They also attempted to remove any evidence that you actually helped them after the fact, though. Remember?
They deleted any post that remotely hinted at it on Nexon forums.

This whole situation is a mess :/.
I don't recall Nexon ever offering anything to mabination. Did they ever give this site a shout out or something.
Nexon can't actually do shit about that, but if they do, then that should be illegal. There's no evidence to claim that a specific user would have said something. If the snitched guy gets banned, Nexon is going to go into all sorts of dirt and shit. If a noticeable number of people get banned anyway.

Who is this person and why does he suck.
I'm going to try and keep this short. For the past few years, players have been screaming at Nexon to actually ban hackers, dupers, gold-buyers, etc. Now that Nexon's finally doing that, you guys are screaming that they're banning "legitimate" players.
You know, I wanted them to ban hackers and dupers, but I gave absolutely NO SHITS about gold-buyers or sellers. All they do is ruin the economy with excess gold, but all that does is raise the item prices up. If you're like me, and have no interest in those fancy items and such, WE DON'T CARE.
Very rarely does Nexon make a mistake (I'm talking about the Gold Duping incidents of mass bans). If you've been banned, you try and play the victim role with innocence. Suck it up and realize that the IGH (In-Game Helper) people are probably in over-drive taking down NX sellers/buyers, River Glitchers, and people who discuss modding openly.
Yeah, and you're going to convince me how? In the first dupe glitch, I was banned temporarily for having duped gold. Then, when Nexon gave out 3-month of free service to wrongfully banned players, I was not one of them. Yes, they said I had violated the ToS, but didn't tell me where. Of course, this was before I even started to learn what "modding" was. I'm a fucking living example of this.
The best fan site was hands-down Mabinogi World (it's hard to deny that fact). The reason they basically dropped them is if you read their discussions on the Wiki, they've been posting sensitive information. String values of items and attributes that can be changed with modifications and hacks. Nexon asked them to stop, and they're still at it (see data templates of the Demonic Weapons). If Nexon really wanted to, they could of just shut them down entirely. But as you said, most people are sick of how that site and their wiki is being run and the other wikis are no where caught up. (I believe Mabinoger's is the closest to being "up to date"? Correct me if I am wrong since I looked at "Mabinoger", "Mabiwiki", and "Mabinogi.Wikia" and a few others).
So Nexon's QQ'ing because we have information? Oh, they should SOOOO ban Gameabout too, because it has FUCKING FUTURE CONTENT.
While I will agree the Customer Support (GMs) of Nexon need to give a bit more description as to why players are getting banned, you seem to believe that players are getting banned for that and not other illegal activities that I've mentioned above.
Proof?
Because the person was sifting through their files and changing shit. If Nexon were to thank the person who went snooping through their files, what kind of message does that send for the rest of the player base? That it's okay to change the values of their files? If Mabi NA wants to stay open and receive support, they have to get their fixes from overseas. If they were to go against KR and devCAT, well.... see Mabi EU. I'm sure that Nexon probably tested that "hex code" and then sent the information over to KR/devCAT so they could fix it.
It's called a fucking UI Modification, you damned moron.
They said there is nothing wrong with discussing future content. You are more than welcome to discuss stuff that is officially released or displayed in overseas. It is NOT okay to discuss stuff that hasn't even been mentioned (a few of the Data Miners on Mabidata should know what I mean.
As I said above, they should close down gameabout, because they have future content. Yeah, Shut up.
To be honest, exactly how well-known is Mabination on a scale of 1-10? I actually forget this site exists 95% of the time. It's been so long since I actually visited here, I don't remember if I ever registered for the site or not.
You must be a newb, because Mabination has about 20% of all the "good" players on the entire Mabinogi. Of the other 80%, at least 50% of them are probably involved in an outside community like Mabination (There's a page on Naver "Korea's Google", that is only allowed for Korean players)
Yes, Nexon does have the power to ban anybody for nothing at all. In the Nexon's ToU (Terms of Use), Section 10.1
Hence, we are unsatisfied with it.
Anyways, I typed too long and forgot where I was even going with this... so... sorry.
@Unregistered; you need proof that that person was banned?
He was told by Nexon that he was banned for data-mining because he had posted the so-called "mined" information on the Mabinogi World Wiki, even though it was common knowledge at that point.
I've never seen them blatantly lie.
You haven't been around very long, have you?
