In other news I think I found out why mobs stopped spawning.
http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/minecraft/88334-no-hostile-mobs-spawning
I changed the View Render distance from 7 to 10 and noticed a substantial difference in mob spawning. We'll see how it goes when more people hop on. Why is Sunday/today so dead D:
UPDATE: I updated the server to 3.0.1b
Which includes the following:
3.0.1b
- alumentum now follows the mobgriefing rules and will launch the 'grenade' when placed in a dispenser instead of just the item.
3.0.1a
- aura calculations only occur on nodes in loaded chunks
- improved wizard villager trades
- fix for discoveries turning back into fragments when they shouldn't
- made clay golems slightly more useful
CHEERS!

Oh, sorry about that then :(
Edit: What version of Forge is installed on the server? I installed the latest (445), yet it is complaining about "FML" version not being new enough (Forge Mod Loader).

Oh Forgot to add, Mystcraft has now been added to the server. Added link to OP so please download that as well! Thanks!
Making books is diabled on purpose. We have some plans for that. More to come in the future

So this is how Mystcraft will work on our server.
Any player can make a link book to a certain place, but not ages - only Kingofrunes or I can do so.
There is a central hub age known as the Nexus. This is actually three ages - The Light Nexus, The Dark Nexus, and The Twilight Nexus.
The Light Nexus is a hub where anyone may access the provided Link Modifiers or Enderchests, as well as place Link Books to their residency.
The Dark Nexus is a hub where Link Books to the hidden Ages may be placed by players who found them for everyone to use. There are a total of 25 hidden Ages, including The Abyss, Ancient Forest, Skyfrost, The Wight, and the mysterious Twlight Nexus, whose function is not known to players at this time.
The links are hidden across the worlds, some in the Overworld, some in the Nether, and even some inside other Ages. A book giving general hints to locations will be provided, so as to make finding them not impossible.
Currently, the Ages include:
-The Abyss: A dark underground open to the Void.
-Checkerboard: An infinite checkerboard filled with mushrooms and obelisks.
-Skyfrost: A sky world in a permanent state of cold and darkness.
-Skyfire: A sky world in a permanent state of searing flame and bombardiment.
-Overgrown Heights: A sky world completely overgrown with massive trees whose roots writhe through the sky.
-Prologue: A flat, whitewashed land of white.
-Epilogue: A dark, almost lifeless landscape.
-Ancient Forest: A dense forest packed with ruins and massive trees.
-Oddlands: An appropriate name - A strange, cavernous world that is deceptively bright.
-Eye of the Storm: A cold, dark, stormy void. If one could get past the frquent lightning strikes and the cold, the sped-up time makes this world a fantastic place to grow crops.
-Classic Superflat: An age modeled after the greatest worldtype of all time, Superflat.
-Sapphire Islands: An endless chain of varying islands in an infinite ocean.
-Emerald Islands: An endless chain of skylands in an infinite green sky. Emeralds may be mined.
-Ruby Islands: An endless chain of oases in an infinite desert.
-The Wight: A pitch black, densely snowing void containing hidden danger.
-The Light Nexus: A hub where players may access eachother's houses.
-The Dark Nexus: A hub where discovered ages may be accessed.
-The Twilight Nexus: A hub where players may ???.
At this time I still need to name and create 8 ages. After I do so, I'll go through the process of hiding the books and providing the hints.

Where/how do we get hints?
Also I heard we don't lose items on death, is it true?

A written book will be displayed in the Nexus, which will contain hints.
That is true; for the time being we don't want people punished for glitch deaths.

well isn't losing exp on death a strong penality in itself? personnaly I think it would be nice if we could permenaly keep the no-item-lost-upon-death

The keepInventory option also negates EXP loss.
I'm currently considering adding ExtraBiomesXL to the server; we can disable the blocks it adds and completely negate any natural generation of its biomes, thus theoretically allowing them to only appear within ages whilst not requiring ExtraBiomesXL to be installed anywhere but the server. It strictly depends on how Mystcraft handles symbol provision.
This would allow for ages with much more unique makeup and terrain, which would be good.

Question, what are these "glitch" deaths that are occurring? Most of the deaths I've seen is from typical foolishness and everyday dying.

Nothing on particular. I intend to test a couple things with EBX on the test server later, if you don't mind.

Man, have you read the thread? Like, at all? I don't mean to be a dick, but we have like a couple pages of how well it's gone previously when people have joined and posted only to join the server.
