Kingofrunes' Thaumcraft 3 Whitelisted Server

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Edit: I would apply, but I'm too caught up in TC3 on my SSP FTB world (which I manually upgraded to 1.4.5 just to use Thaumcraft 3 and get the XyCraft world gen).

Keep in mind, though, that this isn't a really fancy server. It's got, like, 20 blocks or so of spawn protection and that's it. King likely doesn't have an easy way to do selective rollbacks either. Someone who doesn't really have any reputation here on Nation (and I don't mean the +rep feature) is a big potential risk to the effort people have put into their stuff.

You say you won't be trouble, but there's no real assurance of that when nobody knows you directly nor indirectly. It's not a personal thing, just small servers like this usually stick to people they they know or who have a reputation in the community. Get active on Nation though, make a bit of a name for yourself. This server could be up for a long while, I don't really know what King has planned. If he ever decides to stop, maybe I'll bring one up.

Get to know people and get people to know you. Once you're a part of the Nation community, you'll probably be more likely to get whitelisted.

@Saph You should play with us sometime D: It's fun to play with others, and you wouldn't even have to do anything to play, just let FML do its thing. Even if you just drop by to hang out sometimes :P

You say you don't want to let "randoms" in... to me this is equal to saying: 'Hey, I already have all the friends I want in my life, and I'm scared to give anyone else a try, lest my pixel world suffers!'. It's extremely closed minded of you. That being said... It's not *that* important for me to play on a server with people who think like ~that~. I wish you all a wonderful time.

P.S. The suggestion that I should WAIT spend months being active on this forum, just to suck up to people who wouldn't give me the time of day is ludicrious to me. Sir, this addon will probably take a week or so to fully explore and get bored with... I don't see a point in spending countless hours reading this forum, and forcing myself to reply to a thousand threads, so a bit of "closely knit" people maybe give me a chance... Take care. I won't be back ;/

Good :P But really, what the hell did this guy expect. Joining some random forum for some game he has probably never heard of, just to apply to a MC server. Why didn't he just browse the server section on the MC servers? =/

Honeybun, I am the guy who joined here, to apply to join a quaint little server with supposedly nice people. Do try to follow the conversation, before you agree with the guy you're against ;)

What I expected is to actually gain proof to my lifelong wish/aspiration/conviction that the nation of NERD is somehow better than the standard, rotten, decaying corpse that we joyfully call "Humanity". I'm mostly a very helpful and nice person. Last tech server I was on I gifted two suits of quantum armor to my townies, because I could, and since I am a nolife, I had a lot of time to gather the mats. I also kept a town of around 20 people, spending 80% of my time grinding mats for them, or helping them build things, or solving mundane problems like "how do I make a glowstone lamp glow". So yeah, actually I am a pretty nice addition to ANYTHING. Anyway, now you can all bite me. Go hit another 1700 posts and enjoy your virtual penis being twice as long. :)

not worth my time when my computer freezes up every morning as it is with the activity all you guys are doing. Jesus, the server was flipping out like hell this morning.

Sarah, I can't keep hosting the server if my computer is going to be flipping out like this every morning. I don't have the patience or time for this. Whatever you guys are doing, it's killing my computer. I'm not sure if it's the highly extensive exploration you guys are doing or what but it's not good w/e it is :/

Going to see if I can find a dedicated solution. I don't mind shelling out money out of my pocket to host this.

UPDATE: I can't seem to find a good easy one where I can simply just upload the entire server and start it up on a dedicated machine that's somewhat affordable and isn't going to rape my wallet. Anyone have any suggestions?

UPDATE2: I think I found an affordable solution for like $48 a month for 4 GB of RAM and 20 Slots of players. Just playing around with it trying to get the settings right and the world to load correctly. If all goes well I'll update the Skype chat and OP with the new IP.

UPDATE3: Setup! Updating IP in Skype chat in thread. New IP is now 198.15.120.115

You're being an unreasonable dick, just saying. Yeah, cool, you spent hours showing people how to build lamps-- congratulations. We don't know that. Because you literally joined the forum just to join this server, we have absolutely no way of knowing who you are or what you're like. It's not a matter of sucking up to anyone, it's a matter of trust.

Take me, for instance-- I'm only somewhat active on Nation, with a pretty low post count for how long I've been here though. Sapph, however, knows me. King has seen me around. It takes a minute of looking through my post history for even someone who's never seen me to realize that while I'm occasionally a dick to people, I'm all around pretty easy-going and cooperative. I am, in short, pretty low-risk.

We have no way of knowing what you're like. For all we know you enjoy griefing servers to hell and back, and just happened across this one and hoped to gain access. Is that probably the case? No. Might it have been possible you'd get whitelisted if you hadn't decided to be a total cockwipe the moment we told you of reasonable objections to whitelisting you off the bat? Yes.

At this point, though, the only thing we can see of you is that you act like a petulant brat if you don't get your own way. If you played regularly on a tech server you of all people should understand hesitance when your first post on the entire forum is asking for whitelisting. You couldn't so much as introduce yourself or try to interact with the community beforehand?

Man, I'm sorry this is being such a pain to you haha... Between my computer issues and the server fucking with your computer :/ I'll hop on the server now though (you updated between when I loaded the page and when I hit reply lol).

Quick edit in case anyone reads here before asking: For users of Rei's or Zan's minimap, go into the appropriate folder in .minecraft/mods/ and change the NAME of the .POINTS files from 78.whatever.whatever.DIM0/1/2 to be [new IP].DIM0/1/2 and you're all set. You may or may not have multiple points files for the server, depending on whether or not you had locations in the nether or End marked.
